Election Commission Reports Voter Turnout for Subdistrict Administrative Organization Elections Phatthalung Leads with Highest Participation

The Election Commission summarized voter turnout for the 2026 Subdistrict Administrative Organization elections, with Phatthalung province leading the nation with over 81% participation for both SAO councilors and SAO chiefs.


At 3:30 p.m. on 14 January 2026, the Election Commission Office released unofficial data on voter turnout for the Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) councilor and chief elections as follows: elections were held in 4,985 SAOs, with 4,500 SAO chief seats and 52,544 SAO councilor constituencies totaling 53,143 positions. There were 16,075,164 voters who cast ballots for SAO chief elections, representing 70.46% turnout. This turnout was out of 22,814,030 registered eligible voters. For SAO councilor elections, 17,592,239 voters participated, representing 69.89% turnout. This was out of 25,170,136 registered eligible voters.

The top five provinces with the highest voter turnout for SAO chief elections were: :

1. Phatthalung with 81.62%
2. Songkhla with 80.12%
3. Surat Thani with 79.52%
4. Saraburi with 79.29%
5. Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya with 78.83%

1. Phatthalung with 81.61%
2. Maha Sarakham with 81.23%
3. Songkhla with 79.83%
4. Surat Thani with 79.70%
5. Phetchaburi with 78.94%
