Dr. Chen Yoschanan appeals for votes from Korat residents and Red supporters nationwide to elect the Pheu Thai Party throughout the province to send him as the 33rd Prime Minister. Ten Natthawut criticizes Anutin for using the crane collapse on the train to connect it to politics, accusing him of politicizing the incident.
At 13:55 on 14 Jan 2026 at the multipurpose building of Non Sung Subdistrict Municipality, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Mr. Yoschanan Wongsawat, the first-ranked prime ministerial candidate of the Pheu Thai Party, along with Mr. Suriya Junrungreangkit, the third-ranked candidate, and Ms. Sudawan Wangsupakitkosol, deputy party leader and election director, and Mr. Tewan Liptapallop, Pheu Thai party-list MP candidate, took the stage to campaign for Mr. Somkiat Tandiloktrakoon, candidate for Nakhon Ratchasima constituency 5.
Mr. Yoschanan spoke at the rally, saying: "Today, I will try to introduce both my nickname and real name, but however you choose to call me, please call me the 33rd Prime Minister. Today’s goal cannot be achieved unless Korat elects Pheu Thai in all 16 constituencies. I ask Korat to be entirely Red across the province. Can we have all 16 MPs from Korat?"
At 16:00, Mr. Yoschanan proceeded to the yard of Iam Thongchai Company in Pak Thong Chai district with his team to support Mr. Norset Sirirojankul, candidate for Nakhon Ratchasima constituency 12, campaigning. A large crowd gathered to listen to the speech. Mr. Yoschanan said he is the Pheu Thai prime ministerial candidate and asked to be sent to serve as prime minister on 8 February. The first policy Pheu Thai will implement is to provide 3,000 baht monthly to people earning below the poverty line.
Meanwhile, Mr. Natthawut Saiyakoew, acting as a campaign assistant for Pheu Thai, addressed the crane collapse on the train in Sikhiu district. Upon hearing the news, Pheu Thai assigned Mr. Prasert Chanruangwong, party secretary-general, to visit the site to assist in relief efforts as local residents. He emphasized this is not politics or electioneering but a tragedy requiring everyone’s help.
He continued that he followed Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul’s statement that the incident is not political and noted which party has the most MPs in Nakhon Ratchasima. He questioned the relevance of this, stressing the incident was an accident involving a crane falling onto a passenger train during high-speed rail construction. He reaffirmed it is not political and that regardless of government or opposition, everyone must help fellow Thais.
"Using this opportunity to mock which party has the most MPs in Korat, what does that mean? Why say that? The orange party got the prime ministership for only two months, besides policies like half-half co-payment and moving civil servants. Now they mock a tragic event," he said. He invited Korat voters in this election to cast two Pheu Thai ballots for the whole province, saying the current government has relocated thousands of civil servants, and asked if it would be a problem to elect Pheu Thai first to replace the prime minister.
At 17:30 in front of the Kruburi district office, Nakhon Ratchasima, Mr. Yoschanan and Mr. Suriya campaigned to support Mr. Apicha Lertpochrakamol, candidate for constituency 10, and Mr. Arthit Wangsupakitkosol, candidate for constituency 11. The event was lively with a large crowd, many surrounding Mr. Yoschanan to take photos.
On stage, Mr. Yoschanan said that the spirit of the Pheu Thai Party has never changed; its heart remains with the people. He said 8 February will mark a new beginning of hope for Korat, and he does not want to go alone—he asks Korat to elect all 16 constituencies for sustainable growth. If Korat’s youth want education, they must have access. He noted that the beloved supporters of Thai Rak Thai still remain and have returned to help Pheu Thai and develop Korat.
