“Wiroj” exposes a mysterious caller claiming to be a former deputy national police chief nicknamed “Jomwanta” who threatened the DSI during a raid on illegal timber at a warehouse. He suspects Chinese gray capital colluding with Thai influential figures.
On 14 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn, deputy leader of the Prachachon Party, posted on social media exposing a transnational crime network after receiving reports that a mysterious caller claiming to be a former deputy commissioner of the Royal Thai Police, nicknamed “Jomwanta,” phoned and threatened DSI officials while they were jointly raiding a large illegal timber warehouse in Plaeng Yao District, Chachoengsao Province, attempting to pressure them to halt the arrests.
This raid followed an investigation starting from 14 Dec 2025 GMT+7 that uncovered a network transporting protected timber from northern conservation forests (Chiang Mai, Phrae, Lampang) to a warehouse in Nong Khai for processing and document forgery before exporting via Laem Chabang port. The timber was then sent to a warehouse in Chachoengsao, managed by prominent local persons. Initial searches found large quantities of logs and processed wood without proper origin documentation.
Mr. Wiroj stated that this is not merely ordinary illegal logging but represents "Chinese gray capital collaborating with Thai influencers" using Thai nominees as fronts serving transnational mafia interests. He also raised suspicions of possible money laundering. He urged the DSI director-general to coordinate with the Anti-Money Laundering Office to thoroughly trace the money flow and, if any former high-ranking police officers are implicated as claimed, to seize all their assets for the state, ensuring that mafias and traitorous financiers do not escape justice.
