A profile of Ratchapong Soisuwan, former MP and current Tak MP candidate of the Prachachon Party, who was arrested at his residence on charges of involvement in online gambling amid the party's 'No Gray Areas' election campaign.


On 15 January 2026, the Prachachon Party faced renewed controversy when Mr. Ratchapong, also known as Pond Soisuwan, former MP and current Tak MP candidate for the party, became a suspect under Criminal Court warrant no. 196/69 dated 13 January 2026. He faces charges of jointly organizing gambling or using schemes to lure or advertise or directly or indirectly invite others to gamble via electronic media without official permission, conspiracy to launder money, and money laundering. Police arrested him at his home in Nuanchan area on Nawamin Road, Bangkok.

This morning, Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the Prachachon Party, held an urgent press conference regarding the case. He said the party was informed by Ratchapong's lawyer last night and affirmed that the Prachachon Party has clear policies and practices rejecting any gray-area behavior, including corruption, drug trafficking, human trafficking, illicit funding, scamming, or online gambling. If any party member, regardless of position, engages in such actions, the party will neither protect nor conceal wrongdoing. The accused must undergo the judicial process to prove their innocence according to legal procedures.

"The Prachachon Party firmly upholds a zero-tolerance principle against corruption, crime, and other serious offenses," he added.

Regarding the background of Mr. Ratchapong Soisuwan, nicknamed Pond, currently aged 32, he is a former MP of the Prachachon Party in the 26th House of Representatives (May 2023 – December 2025) and is currently a candidate for Tak constituency 2, covering Mae Sot, Phop Phra, and Umphang districts, for the Prachachon Party.
