Ratchapong Nods to Media, Claims Political Harassment, Apologizes to Party and Local Residents

A Prachachon Party MP candidate from Tak denied involvement with an online gambling site after police raided and arrested him. He nodded in acknowledgment, stating he was politically harassed, and apologized to his party and the local people.


On 15 January 2025, following the arrest of Mr. Ratchapong Soisuang, known as Pond, the Tak Province MP candidate for District 2 of the Prachachon Party, he was detained at Khok Kram Police Station. While being taken from the detention room to be questioned at the Technology Crime Investigation Division 3 at the Government Complex, Mr. Ratchapong stated he was not involved with the online gambling site. When asked if he was politically harassed, he nodded in agreement and nodded again when asked if he wished to apologize to the Prachachon Party and local residents.


Mr. Ratchapong was arrested by Technology Crime Investigation Division 3 police at his home in the Nuanchan area on charges of jointly organizing or facilitating online gambling without permission, conspiracy involving two or more persons to launder money, and jointly laundering money.
