Trinuch launched the "Elder Power" campaign, proposing that companies hiring senior citizens can claim double tax deductions and that hourly wages for elderly workers be increased.
On 15 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP) prime ministerial candidate, visited Wang Nam Yen Market in Sa Kaeo Province to seek votes. The key highlight was her effort to reframe seniors from being "dependents" to becoming "economic drivers." She introduced the "All Thais Must Work" policy featuring concrete measures, including tax incentives for private sector businesses hiring people aged 60 and over, allowing them to deduct wages at twice the rate to encourage sustained employment.
Ms. Trinuch added that the conditions require seniors to be Thai nationals, with wages capped at 15,000 baht per month, and seniors representing no more than 10% of total staff. Additionally, the minimum hourly wage for seniors will be raised from 45 baht to no less than 50 baht per hour to meet 2026 living costs. She also plans to establish senior labor development centers in every province to provide re-skilling and up-skilling training and serve as intermediaries linking employers with senior workers.
Ms. Trinuch further explained that conversations with local vendors revealed that most seniors in Sa Kaeo still have the drive to work and want to reduce the burden on their children but lack suitable job opportunities. The Palang Pracharath Party intends to close this gap by creating a "flexible employment" system, such as part-time jobs or work requiring specialized skills.
