Thanathorn Campaigns in Chonburi and Chachoengsao, Vows No More Snakes in Party

Thanathorn campaigns to support People’s Party parliamentary candidates, declaring there will be no more defectors in Chonburi’s 6th district. He promotes policies focused on livelihoods and universal welfare at every age, emphasizing “With us, no gray areas” and refusing to protect wrongdoers after being questioned about a candidate in Tak Province.

15 Jan 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, chairman of the Progressive Movement, acting as a campaign assistant for the People’s Party, traveled to Chonburi and Chachoengsao provinces accompanied by Ms. Benja Saengchan, a campaign assistant for the People’s Party, to support parliamentary candidates. Their activities included speeches and discussion forums that attracted significant local interest. Thanathorn thanked the residents warmly for their welcome and encouragement, urging everyone to accept his gratitude and continue the struggle together. At one point, he apologized to residents of Chonburi’s 6th district for the previous two incidents involving defecting MPs and assured them such events will not happen again.

During a discussion with local residents, Thanathorn presented several People’s Party policies including support for an aging society, such as improving the caregiver system for dependent elderly people. He noted that the number of bedridden patients will increase in the future, and dependent elderly will receive coupons to choose care services. He also highlighted the clean air law aimed at solving air pollution in agriculture, transport, and industry sectors, expressing confidence that the party will push the bill forward once the parliament convenes.

Thanathorn also introduced economic stimulus policies, including a receipt lottery to boost small businesses, tax reform, converting bills into cash, promoting large businesses to adopt e-Tax Invoice/Receipt systems so SMEs can use digital factoring (using trade receivables as loan collateral) immediately, and enforcing laws that set trade credit terms for SMEs at no more than 45 days.

During the discussion, a citizen asked about the party’s future stance following the arrest of a People’s Party candidate in Tak’s 2nd district on charges related to online gambling. Thanathorn responded that the party’s slogan “With us, no gray areas” means they are serious about combating corruption and any illegal acts. If any wrongdoing is found, the party will not protect or shield offenders but will take strict action regardless of who is involved.

Later, Thanathorn spoke to reporters about the recent disorder during a debate in Chonburi, saying that if the public saw the debate last week, it was clear that the disruptive group was organized. However, he remained undeterred and continued, because he knows those causing trouble do not represent the people of Chonburi. Previously, the People’s Party received strong public support through their campaign efforts such as mobile trucks, market visits, and community outreach. Therefore, the recent disturbances have not discouraged or unsettled them. They remain focused and determined to do their best in the remaining 20-plus days to prove to the public that they genuinely wish well for the country and that the People’s Party will bring progress to Thailand. Rather than being shaken, these incidents have invigorated them and strengthened their confidence that they will win across the entire province in this election.

Regarding the coalition of the major political houses forming to contest this election, Thanathorn acknowledged that the People’s Party is working harder and more intensively. Seeing the unity of various groups in Chonburi makes it clear that there are two possible futures for Thailand’s government: one led by the Bhumjaithai Party and the other by the People’s Party. He urged voters to weigh these options carefully, emphasizing that each vote will determine Thailand’s future on 8 February.
