Profile of Wichian Chaisathaporn, Former Blue Senator, Disqualified from Elections for 10 Years

A profile of Wichian Chaisathaporn, former senator from the arts and culture group and prominent food industry businessman, who was sentenced by the court to a 10-year disqualification from running in elections for falsely claiming to be an energy-saving expert at the Ministry of Industry.

On 16 January 2026, the Supreme Court abruptly struck down Wichian Chaisathaporn, a senator representing Group 16: Arts, Culture, Music, Performing Arts, Entertainment, and Sports, revoking his right to run for election for 10 years from the judgment date, 14 January 2026. This was due to his false claim in his candidate introduction (Senator candidate form 3) that he was an “energy-saving expert of the Ministry of Industry.” This work experience or expertise was outside the category he applied for and was factually incorrect. It could mislead voters or fellow candidates, inducing them to vote for him unfairly and causing unfairness to other candidates. The court ruled this conduct constituted election fraud for the Senate election, violating the integrity and fairness required by the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, Article 226, and the Organic Act on the Election of Senators 2018, Section 62.

Profile of Wichian Chaisathaporn

Wichian Chaisathaporn holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology (Industrial Management) from Chandrakasem Rajabhat University (2005), and a master's degree in Industrial Technology Education from the same university (2009).

He also completed the Director Accreditation Program (DAP), Class 128/2016, from the Thai Institute of Directors Association (IOD).

Wichian Chaisathaporn's work experience

Wichian has served as an executive and director in major food and snack businesses, especially at Sri Nanaporn Marketing Public Company Limited (SNNP), where he held roles including company director, executive director, risk management director, and deputy managing director of production (resigned on 12 July 2024).

He has also held key positions in other companies: director of Siri Pro Co., Ltd. (2019–present), director of SNNP International Co., Ltd. (2018–present), director of Thai Faster Products Co., Ltd. (2012–present), and former CEO of Kim Heng Food Products Co., Ltd., Srisayam Food Products Co., Ltd., and Siam Ratchaburi Industry Co., Ltd.

In sports, he was assistant director and advisor to Lamphun Warriors Football Club since its founding in 2010.

He entered politics by being selected as a senator in the 13th Senate in 2024, representing Group 16: Arts, Culture, Music, Performing Arts, Entertainment, and Sports. The Supreme Court ruling revoked his election rights for 10 years and removed him from the Senate due to false information in his candidate introduction form claiming he was an “energy-saving expert of the Ministry of Industry.” The court found this was deceptive, as he was not officially appointed by any department under the Ministry of Industry as claimed.
