Profile of Jeab Pisuth Sapwijit, former famous RS singer and musician, father of young actor Jeed Sutthirak, who has advanced to become the new senator after Wichian Chaisathaporn was judicially disqualified from election rights for 10 years.
On 16 Jan 2026 GMT+7, following the Supreme Court's ruling to revoke the election rights of Mr. Wichian Chaisathaporn, a senator from Group 16 representing arts, culture, music, performance, entertainment, and sports, for 10 years from 14 Jan 2026 GMT+7, due to false information in his candidate introduction claiming to be an “energy-saving expert at the Ministry of Industry.” This was inaccurate work experience unrelated to the group he applied for and could mislead voters and other candidates, constituting electoral fraud under Section 226 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand and Section 62 of the Organic Act on the Selection of Senators B.E. 2561 (2018). Consequently, Mr. Pisuth Sapwijit, also known as Jeab Pisuth, a reserve senator for Group 16, was promoted to fill the vacancy.
Mr. Pisuth Sapwijit, nicknamed Jeab, is a former leading musician, singer, and producer at RS Promotion during its heyday. He produced music for famous artists such as Tao Somchai, Nook Sutthida, James Ruangsak, and Lift-Oil. His own solo albums that established his reputation include "PISUT" in 1992 and "Pisuth TYPE TWO" in 1994, featuring legendary hits like "Love You for the Last Day," "Jaew Jing," "Not Different," and "Everything for You." He is remembered as a rocker with a distinctive hoarse voice, stylish look, and outstanding guitar skills. In his personal life, he was married to Jacqueline Apithananont, a former actress, with whom he has a son, Jeed Sutthirak Sapwijit, a well-known artist and actor.
After stepping away from the entertainment spotlight for a while, Mr. Pisuth turned to politics. He worked with the Palang Pracharath Party in public relations and community activities, then joined the Future Forward Party around 2022, serving on its working committee and campaigning in Bangkok districts.
In 2024, he ran for the Senate in Group 16 (arts, culture, music, performance, entertainment, sports) and was selected as a reserve senator for that group. Meanwhile, he remained involved in music production behind the scenes and participated in organizing concerts, charity events, and sharing music knowledge with younger generations.
Recently, with the court ruling disqualifying Senator Wichian Chaisathaporn of Group 16 from election rights for 10 years, Mr. Pisuth was promoted to serve as the new senator for that group.
