Ratchapong Resigns from Prachachon Party After Being Linked to Online Gambling

Ratchapong Soisuang, candidate for Tak Province’s 2nd district from the Prachachon Party, has submitted his resignation from the party today after becoming a suspect linked to online gambling.

On 16 Jan 2026 GMT+7, a source within the Prachachon Party revealed that Ratchapong Soisuang, also known as “MP Pond,” candidate for Tak’s 2nd district from the Prachachon Party (PCN), has resigned from the party today. This follows an arrest warrant issued by the Criminal Court No. 196/69 dated 13 Jan 2026 GMT+7, charging him with "jointly organizing gambling or using schemes to entice or advertise, directly or indirectly, others to participate in electronic gambling without official permission, conspiracy to launder money, and money laundering." He was arrested at his home in the Nuanchan area on Nawamin Road, Bangkok.

During the investigation, police tracked activity related to an online gambling website named 'nakarin,' which was found to be operating illegally. Upon investigation, it was discovered that Ratchapong Soisuang, candidate for Tak’s 2nd district, was involved as a beneficiary of the said gambling website.

Ratchapong’s resignation from the Prachachon Party has resulted in the party no longer having a candidate in that electoral district.
