Administrative Court Accepts Crane Collapse Cases Families of Victims and Injured Can Sue Within One Year

The Administrative Court is prepared to accept lawsuits regarding crane collapses in Sikhio and Rama 2, allowing families of the deceased and injured parties to sue government agencies for violations within one year.

This falls under the jurisdiction of the first-instance Administrative Court in cases involving violations or other liabilities of administrative agencies or state officials.

Judge Therdpong further explained that administrative law allows victims to sue for damages against the state regarding other liabilities of administrative agencies or state officials. This refers to lawful actions by such agencies or officials that nevertheless cause harm to the public due to state construction projects. For disputes of this nature, the statute of limitations for filing a case with the Administrative Court is one year. Victims wishing to file suit may submit their complaints to either the Nakhon Ratchasima Administrative Court or the Central Administrative Court, which have jurisdiction over the province where the incident occurred.

The Administrative Court Office organized a governance project for society, including media network capacity-building activities.
