Yotsanan rode a campaign truck asking for a chance to change Chonburi. He said he is not concerned about local powerhouses and emphasized that victory depends on who wins the people's hearts. He denied any secret deals among the three major parties and said the election results must be awaited first.
At 10:30 a.m. on 17 Jan 2026 GMT+7 in Chonburi, Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat, the Pheu Thai Party's prime ministerial candidate, spoke about campaigning in Chonburi and how to win more parliamentary seats than in the previous election. He said policy is crucial, focusing on pollution control, marine and fisheries management, and addressing gray capital. Candidates have done their homework and continuously engaged with local areas. He was pleased many people responded positively and could discuss the policies. When asked about intense competition in Chonburi and whether he was worried that local powerhouses no longer support Pheu Thai, Yotsanan said their candidates have been continuously present in the area. He believes local powerhouses are no longer decisive; what matters is who can win the people's hearts, which goes to those who work continuously and have experience. Tourism is also part of this election; they promote bringing tourists in alongside restoring the sea and ensuring clean air. This message is communicated clearly. When asked about seat targets, he said he aims to win in all areas he visits but hopes to secure at least 10 constituencies in Chonburi.
When asked about reports revealing alleged deals among three major political parties, including Pheu Thai, Yotsanan said he does not believe such deals exist and emphasized that he is currently campaigning in the field. He stressed that the important thing is for the public to be aware because elections depend on the people's voices. No one can make deals if the public does not vote for them. When further asked about suspicions that the visible conflicts among parties are just staged fronts to seek future benefits, Yotsanan responded that fortunately, there is no conflict within Pheu Thai. The party focuses on creating good policies, listening to the people in the field, and this is the message they communicate.
At 11:30 a.m., Yotsanan rode a campaign truck to support Mr. Kongpatchara Khairat, the candidate for Chonburi Constituency 2, and then traveled to pay respects to the Phra Phuttha Sihing Buddha image at the Phra Phuttha Sihing Hall in Mueang District, Chonburi, for good fortune. While on the campaign truck, he spoke, emphasizing that he came to reaffirm that Chonburi can be changed. Pheu Thai will do its utmost to transform Chonburi by creating income, reducing expenses, and expanding opportunities for all locals. He urged the people of Chonburi to vote for quality candidates and parties on 8 February.
Reporters noted that along the route, people waved at the campaign truck. When the truck passed Chonburi Kindergarten, the school Yotsanan once attended, he remarked, “This is my old school; I studied here.” He then visited and greeted people at the 18th annual Pruksa Tawanok 'The Train of Happiness' event at the square in front of the Chonburi provincial hall, where many attendees approached him to take photos.
