18 Jan 2026 GMT+7 Chaiyachonok Chidchob, Secretary-General of the Bhumjaithai Party, spoke about being referred to as "Ban Yai," saying he has always reflected on the meaning of the term. To him, "Ban Yai" reflects development across all industries involved. This is evident in the success of transforming Buriram province from the third poorest city in the country into one of the provinces with the highest economic growth and a source of international pride for Thailand.
Chaiyachonok continued, saying that "Ban Yai" means a group of capable people with potential and shared goals to create benefits—not for selfish reasons or betrayal, which would be wrong. The term does not diminish his abilities, and he has never thought of denying his identity as "Chidchob," because every experience, obstacle, opportunity, and public trust has shaped who he is today.
"I must be true to myself and accept myself, because without that, I cannot develop or create any change at all."
Chaiyachonok affirmed he will maintain his identity on the political path and is committed to using all his abilities to serve the people to the best of his ability.
