Theng Campaigns at Hang Dong Market, Urges Vote for Peoples Party, Thanks Chiang Mai Supporters for Backing as Top Prime Minister Candidate

“Theng Nattapong” toured northern Thailand to support “Tee Phattharaphong” campaigning at Hang Dong Market in Chiang Mai Province. He urged voters to choose the “People's Government,” thanked Chiang Mai residents after polls named him the top prime minister candidate, and invited them to continue the mission to change the country together.

18 Jan 2026 GMT+7 Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, prime minister candidate and leader of the People's Party, visited Chiang Mai province to campaign at the Hang Dong Municipal Market to support Phattharaphong Leelaphat, People's Party candidate for Chiang Mai’s 8th electoral district. The atmosphere was lively as vendors and residents gathered, presenting him with oranges and flowers.

Nattapong began meeting and taking photos with people in front of the market, receiving wishes to become the new prime minister this time. He then walked through the Hang Dong Municipal Market greeting vendors and accepted flowers. At one point, Nattapong said, “First, I want to thank everyone for their encouragement. Many said they have been here since 7 a.m.; I apologize for the wait. Last time when Pita came here (Hang Dong), they said Hang Dong felt distant. Today it truly doesn’t. This election is the hope of everyone. It’s a mission that we all must join to build a People's Government. According to the latest NIDA poll, Chiang Mai residents are ready to vote for the People's Party.”

Later, Nattapong spoke about the NIDA poll showing that 31.40% of Chiang Mai people support him as prime minister. He thanked Chiang Mai residents for expressing their growing support through the poll. He said they believe no political party owns the people, and about 10% remain undecided. As party leader, he sees it as his duty to better communicate with the public and share policies, intentions, and the mission to build a People's Government.

“Today I have the opportunity to campaign in Chiang Mai. In the evening, I will visit Mae Rim to meet ethnic communities and several other locations. I ask everyone to follow the People's Party’s work and help continue the mission to change the country together.”

Nattapong is scheduled to continue campaigning in Chiang Mai through tomorrow (19 Jan 2026) before traveling to assist campaigning in Chiang Rai on 20 Jan 2026.
