Anutin Reaffirms Sihasak - Supajee - Ekniti as Blue Party Members, Cites Permanent Secretary Tooms Words, Responds to Orange Party

Anutin is confident that the public wants the party to serve them. He states clearly he doesn’t know how much clearer he can be: "Sihasak - Supajee - Ekniti" are members of the blue party. He refers back to the Orange Party and recalls the words of "Permanent Secretary Toom," emphasizing his readiness to resign if involved in any grey-area dealings.

At 11:20 a.m. on 18 Jan 2026, Mr. Anutin gave an interview about his nationwide visits, saying the receptions have been warm everywhere. He thanked the public, sensing their confidence in Bhumjaithai to serve in national administration. Regarding Bangkok, he said the party hopes not only in Bangkok but in all areas to win both constituency and party-list seats. These visits are not for campaigning but to listen to the public's needs, what’s missing, and how to build on existing efforts. He added that persuasion isn’t about words but about showing work and trusting voters to judge and give Bhumjaithai a chance. When asked how the party will handle increased mudslinging in the final election stretch, Anutin said Bhumjaithai is not part of any mudslinging using rhetoric and will leave others to do as they please.

Visiting Wang Lang Market, locals flocked to take photos.

At 12:30 p.m., Mr. Anutin and his team visited Wang Lang Market to support Ms. Suphika Patthanunphu, candidate for Bangkok Noi constituency. They received strong interest from vendors who asked for photos and reminded about the 'Khon La Khrueng Plus' project. Many shoppers also showed keen interest. Mr. Anutin introduced Mr. Sihasak, the foreign minister, saying, "Take on the Cambodians." He asked vendors whether they wanted the border checkpoint opened; a vendor said no. At one point, a vendor said, "Back then, it was Uncle Tu." Mr. Anutin responded, "Now it’s young Noo."

Reporters noted that at Wang Lang Market, Mrs. Thananon Niramit, Mr. Anutin's wife, also joined the campaign activities.

Firm stance: Never touch Sections 1 and 2, forever.

At 11:20 a.m. at Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior as well as leader of Bhumjaithai Party, spoke about the party’s constitutional amendment stance regarding Sections 1 and 2. He said Bhumjaithai never dared to overstep other parties. The party is clear not to touch Sections 1 and 2. Constitutional amendments have procedures; if a public referendum approves changes, the party will not oppose, but Sections 1 and 2 must preserve the royal powers without impact. He addressed fake news on social media claiming Bhumjaithai plans to amend the entire constitution, saying the party is not the initiator and is satisfied with the current constitution. However, if a campaign demands a truly people’s constitution, not drafted by the NCPO, the party listens but insists Sections 1 and 2 must remain. Asked about some parties saying no lock on Sections 1 and 2, which might affect the institution, Anutin said there is no lock, so it is unclear if there will be interference; this should be stated clearly as all parties have clarified their positions to avoid accusations of interference. He reiterated Bhumjaithai will not touch Sections 1 and 2, royal powers, security, or the institution. Other details can be discussed. This position was declared since 2019, reaffirmed in 2023, 2026, and will continue as long as Bhumjaithai exists in politics.

Ready to resign if involved in grey-area dealings.

Mr. Anutin also spoke about reports from police or investigations expanding into political networks linked to scammers after an arrest of a People’s Party candidate in Tak Province. He said he has closed names considering behavior and feels indifferent about who is arrested. He is pleased the public sees scammers and illegal activities, including cross-border crimes and illegal gambling, being cracked down on, reflecting agencies following his policy fully. When asked if he would call on People’s Party leaders to take responsibility for links to grey businesses, as MP Rangsiman Rome demanded, Anutin said to look at Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, leader of the New Opportunity Party, who spoke at a TV debate on 17 Jan.

Reporters noted that at the debate, Mr. Jatuporn responded to Mr. Natthapong Riangpanyawut, People’s Party leader, who asked how he would handle party members linked to grey businesses. Jatuporn replied, "If it were me, the party leader must resign because they selected those members."

"Sihasak - Supajee - Ekniti" are Blue Party members.

Mr. Anutin commented on a post advising Mr. Suthichai Yoon and Mr. Weera Theeraphat, who analyzed on a program that Mr. Sihasak Puangketkaew, Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, and Ms. Supajee Suthammanpun must bear the burdens of Bhumjaithai Party. Anutin turned to Mr. Sihasak standing beside him and asked, "Is it heavy, P’Auan, carrying Bhumjaithai Party?" Mr. Sihasak replied that their policies align and those made jointly with Bhumjaithai are not burdensome. He believes what they have done is on the right path, has received public acceptance, and produced tangible results.

Emphasizing the necessity for clear explanation.

Mr. Anutin added that he responded on Facebook because there were false statements claiming Ms. Supajee and Mr. Ekniti are not Bhumjaithai members but were being made scapegoats. They suggested Bhumjaithai lacked capability, but if the party lacked ability, it would seek capable, correct, knowledgeable, and skilled people to work. Mr. Sihasak is even more clearly a member as he is the party’s prime ministerial candidate—how much clearer can it be? Anutin fears misinformation given to the public, especially close to elections, so as party leader, he must clarify and ensure transparency.
