Abhisit Leads Democrat Party Campaign in Phra Khanong-Bang Na, Promotes Honest Politics Over Bribery

Abhisit visits the Phra Khanong-Bang Na area to support Democrat Party parliamentary candidate Veer Sriworathanaboon in Bangkok, declaring the party's pride and promoting the campaign slogan 'Fight Bullets with Momentum' for honest politics, while fans express their wish for the 33rd honest prime minister.

On 20 January 2026, Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party and prime ministerial candidate, led the 'Blue House' team including Dr. Kadee Liaoipiroj and Mr. Sakolthee Phattiyakul, deputy party leaders, to the Phra Khanong-Bang Na area. They met with residents at Soi Sukhumvit 101/1 (Wachirathamsathit) to support Ms. Veer Sriworathanaboon, the Democrat Party candidate for Bangkok's 23rd district, number 17, amidst a warm and friendly reception.

This visit was filled with smiles and laughter, highlighted by senior fans approaching closely to take photos and offer encouragement, with some even shouting heartfelt words. “I've secretly admired you, Abhisit, since you were young.” Meanwhile, market vendors called out, “The Prime Minister is here!” They cheered, expressing their desire to see Abhisit return as prime minister again. Abhisit responded with a smile and thanked everyone for their support.

Promoting 'Momentum' to Counter 'Bullets' and Lay Foundations for Clean Politics

Abhisit spoke about the election competition situation, admitting concerns over the use of money power or 'bullets' to buy votes. Reports indicated emerging fraud in various forms, such as requiring voters who receive money to photograph themselves at voting booths. He called on the Election Commission to act proactively and strictly enforce rules ahead of the election.

Regarding the current ruling house's strategy of using 'bullets,' Abhisit said, “Our Blue House relies on momentum. Whether momentum can overcome bullets depends on the people. We hope it can, because this is not only about a fair election but the beginning of establishing genuine integrity in our country. When such money enters the system, it leads to seeking benefits, especially if the funds are unclean, turning into buying power to protect oneself through the justice system. This prevents us from addressing these problems effectively.”

Besides campaigning, Abhisit and his team also listened to residents' concerns and complaints, including economic issues and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration regulations regarding pets, affirming that the Democrat Party is ready to propose sustainable and constructive solutions.
