Supachai, head of Bhumjaithai's legal team, is preparing to sue Palang Pracharath Party and Jaturong for defaming Anutin by falsely claiming he is related to the Italian-Thai company. He noted that the penalty could include removal of the entire executive committee and possible imprisonment. He emphasized pursuing the case to the fullest.
On 20 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Supachai Jaisamut, a party-list MP candidate and head of Bhumjaithai's legal team, said the election is approaching and campaigning is intensifying. Defamation through false and distorted messages has appeared across all channels. Recently, Palang Pracharath claimed to have been defamed and filed a complaint with the Election Commission after news surfaced that one of their candidates was arrested for money laundering linked to drug offenses. However, when I called on Palang Pracharath to clarify and restrain Jaturong Hirunkarn, a former Move Forward party list candidate who posted false claims accusing Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of Bhumjaithai, of ties to Italian-Thai company and trying to imply familial relations, the party has remained silent. Yet, when their party is accused, they quickly file complaints with the Election Commission against others.
Today, Bhumjaithai will take legal action against the leader and executive committee of Palang Pracharath Party for offenses under the Political Parties Act and the Organic Act on Election of MPs, which carry criminal penalties. Under Section 22, the executive committee must supervise and prevent members from violating the constitution, laws, party rules, and related regulations. When a royal decree calls for an MP election, the committee must ensure no member or party official acts in a way that compromises the election's honesty, fairness, legality, or harms any candidate, directly or indirectly.
If it is found that after the party registrar orders a suspension and no action is taken, there are administrative penalties, including the registrar ordering the entire executive committee removed. I have warned them to halt these actions. There are also criminal penalties: imprisonment from 7 to 15 years, fines ranging from 140,000 to 300,000 baht, or both. Today, I will file a criminal complaint against Jaturong for violating Section 73 of the Organic Act on Election of MPs and for inserting false information into the computer system. We will pursue the case fully. Simultaneously, we will take legal action against Palang Pracharath and file a complaint with the Election Commission under the Political Parties Act. This is to set an example and urge them to practice clean politics as they claim, not to say one thing and do another, preaching purity but acting corruptly. I believe society must pay attention as this is important, and we will pursue the case to the end.
