"Chaiyachonok" clarified that the 10 politicians involved with gray-area capital are not all from the Prachachon Party but linked to several parties. He requests a platform to ensure fairness for the Prachachon Party and urges the public to receive information with composure, affirming this is not political pressure near the election period.
On 20 Jan 2026 at 16:50 GMT+7, Mr. Chaiyachonok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society (DES), commented on the case involving 10 politicians linked to gray-area capital businesses. He said he has given multiple interviews and statements consistent with the news headlines but wishes to use this space to provide fairness to the Prachachon Party.
Mr. Chaiyachonok stated that the 10 politicians are not 10 MPs or candidates from any single political party but are 10 individuals connected to political parties, involving several parties rather than just one. He added that details cannot yet be disclosed until the evidence has been legally verified, which is nearing completion.
Regarding when the information can be revealed, he said that is not his authority but depends on the justice process and when the evidence verification concludes. Once finished, a public statement will be made, expected soon. It is unlikely all 10 will be disclosed simultaneously; it depends on who finishes the process first or last.
He requested fairness for the justice process currently proceeding intensively, emphasizing that credit belongs to the relevant agencies. He reaffirmed that the Prachachon Party is not involved and that the justice system will determine if any of the individuals are connected to Prachachon. He stressed that not all 10 belong to Prachachon and said that communication during this period has caused damage to the party's image.
He therefore urged the public to receive information during this time with calmness and to rely on official statements from relevant agencies rather than just news headlines.
Asked about suspicions this case is being used as political pressure, Mr. Chaiyachonok said they are not using the case for political leverage. The issue under discussion has been ongoing for 2–3 months with evidence and documents requiring verification. Failure to proceed would amount to neglecting duties.
He said that if viewed as political pressure, that is incorrect. The case has a real basis and needs thorough investigation, so the process must continue accordingly.
Regarding the timing, due to the recent rapid dissolution of parliament, the process coincides with the current period. He confirmed they will continue to perform their duties to the best of their ability.
