On 20 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Peerapun Saleerutwiphak, leader of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party (RTSC), publicly revealed the process of the 'devil capital' dominating Thailand's energy system. He highlighted that this control is more sinister than a typical monopoly, as it holds bureaucracy, justice, and business sectors firmly in the hands of one group. He emphasized that this is the reason living costs and energy prices have soared, leaving the public with no alternatives.
Mr. Peerapun stated that from his experience as energy minister, he learned the truth that "Thai people have been deceived their whole lives," especially regarding oil prices, which need not be tied to Singapore market prices or adjusted instantly with global markets because there is a three-month advance reserve. He further exposed the electricity rates that the public is currently being robbed of, since the monopoly over electricity is controlled by the same group that dominates gas and other businesses, overseen by officials who are "people of the capital group," facilitating profits flowing entirely into the pockets of the 'devil capital.'
The leader of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party declared firmly that society cannot be just if energy costs continue to be distorted this way. He confirmed he will continue to fight to "eliminate the monopoly domination" of this devil capital group, to restore fairness and genuinely reduce living expenses for the people.
