Profile of Chaiyanachai Dechadecho, Deputy Leader of the Blue Party and Former Chair of the Police Committee

Profile of Chaiyanachai Dechadecho, Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party overseeing the southern region, recently accused by a prominent page of involvement in a drug trafficking network. He has denied the allegations and is preparing to sue those who defamed him, noting the political motives during the election period.

On 21 Jan 2026 GMT+7, the news resurfaced when the CSI LA page posted: “Urgent: Police preparing to search the home of the ‘Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party’ from the south, initials ‘T.’, linked to a drug trafficking network.” Many suspected Chaiyanachai Dechadecho, Deputy Leader for the southern region. Recently, Chaiyanachai clarified, firmly denying any acquaintance with Jakkrit Dechadecho, aka Sun or “Sun Thungjeen,” who was arrested on drug charges. He explained that sharing the Dechadecho surname does not imply relation, as many in Nakhon Si Thammarat share it. In fact, his parents’ original surname is a Chinese clan name, but his father adopted the Dechadecho surname with the approval of a respected senior police officer and has used it since. When asked if leaked photos could make defense difficult, Chaiyanachai said as a politician, being photographed is normal and urged fairness, asking why the Dechadecho surname is being used to attack him and the Democrat Party now during an election when the party is regaining strength in the south.

“If anyone has financial records or communication evidence linking me to involvement, please present it publicly or submit it to the investigators. I welcome scrutiny. But if these are baseless accusations aimed solely at political gain during the election, I reserve the right to pursue full legal action to protect my reputation and the truth,” Chaiyanachai stated.
