Yoschanan Campaigns in Nong Khai, Rides Sky Lab, Pays Respect to Luang Pho Phra Sai, Appeals for Provincial Support for Pheu Thai

Yoschanan walks the morning market in Nong Khai, rides the sky lab, pays homage to Luang Pho Phra Sai, and appeals to Nong Khai voters to support Pheu Thai by sweeping the entire province. A vendor remarks he looks like Somchai Wongsawat How could you not vote for him?

At 07:30 on 22 Jan 2026 at Pho Chai fresh market in Nong Khai, Mr. Yoschanan Wongwatsat, Pheu Thai Party's prime ministerial candidate, met with traders and citizens shopping there. He supported Mr. Krisada Tanterdtit, Pheu Thai candidate for Nong Khai constituency 1, number 3; Ms. Chanok Chanthathong, candidate for constituency 2, number 1; and Mr. Ekthanat Inrod, constituency 3, number 4. Citizens gathered to take photos with him and presented garlands of marigolds, banana chips, and traditional white scarves.

Yoschanan told the welcoming crowd that he stayed here last night but felt compelled this morning to meet the people of Nong Khai. He believes Nong Khai has much potential to be a global destination, boosting tourism. After walking along the Mekong River this morning, he said issues like drug problems and border trade would be addressed by Pheu Thai upon their return. This election is a turning point for Thailand; progress is necessary. In the previous term, choosing the wrong people who could not work well with the government hindered policy implementation. He volunteers as prime minister and asks the people of Nong Khai to support him in all three constituencies, sweeping the province, so he can work for them.

Riding the sky lab and paying respect to Luang Pho Phra Sai

Yoschanan then greeted shoppers at Pho Chai market in a friendly manner and joined them for breakfast, enjoying local dishes such as pan-fried eggs, Vietnamese pho noodles, grilled sticky rice, and Vietnamese bread, all specialties of Nong Khai. Before eating, he inquired about how to prepare pho and tried making it himself. At one point, a vendor asked for a photo and told him he resembles Mr. Somchai Wongsawat, former prime minister (his father), and said, “How could you not vote for him, nephew of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra?” Before leaving the market, locals advised him to visit Luang Pho Phra Sai at Pho Chai Temple for success.

Yoschanan then rode the sky lab, a motorized tricycle, to Pho Chai Temple to pay respects to Luang Pho Phra Sai and to pay homage to Phra Thep Wachirakun, the abbot of Pho Chai Temple and the provincial ecclesiastical head of Nong Khai. He received a holy water blessing and said, “Wishing you good luck.” Meanwhile, Ms. Chanok expressed her desire to win all three constituencies in the province, to which the abbot replied, “You have that right.”
