“Yotchanan” Speaks in Udon Thani, Surrounded by Embraces, Promises More than Half-Plus 70:30 Policy with No Disruptions

Yotchanan led the Pheu Thai team in a speech in Udon Thani, warmly embraced and kissed by supporters. He declared the intention to reclaim the city as Pheu Thai's stronghold, aiming to sweep all 10 constituencies. He emphasized delivering more than the half-plus 70:30 policy, while Natthawut asked locals to help discipline those who have switched parties.

At 10:00 AM on 22 Jan 2026 GMT+7, at Thung Sri Muang Ban Dung, Ban Dung District, Udon Thani Province, the Pheu Thai Party, led by Mr. Yotchanan Wongsawat, Pheu Thai's prime ministerial candidate, along with Mr. Poomtham Vechayachai, Pheu Thai's party-list MP candidate, and Mr. Natthawut Saiyaku, Pheu Thai's campaign assistant, met with the public to campaign for Mr. Traiphop Kampech, Pheu Thai’s candidate for MP in Constituency 4, number 3.

Mr. Yotchanan greeted the people of Udon Thani, saying that Professor Chen has returned to the Pheu Thai capital. Wherever he travels, his heart remains here as before. Today, he asked if he could be considered a child of Udon Thani. If given all 10 constituencies, he promised to stay here and remain in the hearts of the people forever.

Mr. Yotchanan stated that today's turnout exceeded his expectations. His purpose in coming to Udon Thani was to communicate the Pheu Thai Party’s policies. He saw crowds extending as far as the eye could see. No matter where the people are, Pheu Thai is ready to walk alongside every parent and sibling, eager to solve their problems. The Pheu Thai spirit never changes; its heart is the people.

He added that he felt warmth everywhere and promoted local products. Udon Thani has many strengths but lacks leadership to elevate it internationally. Udon Thani can improve and must become number one. He is confident that anything is possible in Thailand but asked first for all 10 constituencies in Udon Thani. He also requested support for Mr. Traiphop to enter parliament.

Mr. Yotchanan further said that 8 Feb is a historic day for Thailand. This election should not be seen merely as a voting day but as an opportunity to change dreams and hopes. If trusted, he and Mr. Traiphop will immediately realize these dreams. Pheu Thai has many policies, especially for farmers. With rising costs, Pheu Thai promises a 30% profit guarantee for farmers, support for agricultural machinery, and processing to generate income, applying scientific knowledge since Udon Thani is the Pheu Thai capital. They will continue welfare for village health volunteers and for the elderly, announcing to clear their bad debts up to 100,000 baht. Regarding drugs, he vowed to continue the fight until the problem is solved. He pledged to travel throughout Udon Thani to show that Pheu Thai has returned.

Mr. Yotchanan admitted that while the half-half subsidy scheme was good, many could not afford even half the payment. Pheu Thai now offers more than that—the 70:30 scheme—allowing people to breathe easier again. Pheu Thai can deliver this.

Regarding healthcare, previously Pheu Thai introduced the 30-baht universal healthcare scheme that no party dared abandon. It evolved to 30-baht treatment everywhere, and now Yotchanan proposes 30-baht AI—not robot treatment but enabling everyone everywhere to access care. He said he cannot do this alone and asked for support to elect Pheu Thai candidates.

At one point during the speech, Mr. Natthawut said that on 8 Feb, Udon Thani people must make a decisive choice together, reaffirming their shared belief that Pheu Thai can work, has policies, and will solve problems for the people. Those who have switched parties should be taught a lesson to recognize the people of Udon Thani and Ban Dung. In this district, when candidates visit, they try hard and wait until the last moment to support Mr. Traiphop, a quality candidate. If he had not been nominated in time, it would have been damaging—that is the reality. Thus, this election is not only about voting for two Pheu Thai ballots to work but also about teaching those who play dirty politics a lesson. Vote both Pheu Thai ballots to show “who’s who.”

Yotchanan praised the people of Udon Thani for their loyalty from the Thai Rak Thai era through to Pheu Thai.

Then, at 11:50 AM at Phen Pittayakhom School, Udon Thani, Mr. Yotchanan and the Pheu Thai campaign team took the stage to support Mr. Samak Boonpok, Pheu Thai candidate for Udon Thani Constituency 3, number 2. Before the speech, Yotchanan met and greeted the crowd, who hugged, kissed, and asked for photos. At one point, he stood on a chair to greet more people.

Mr. Yotchanan said in his speech, “I am here to report in. It’s truly warm today. At first, I wanted to ask if I could get all 10 constituencies, but now I won’t ask because Udon Thani is red all over and will remain so forever. I feel deeply connected returning once again. This is truly Pheu Thai’s capital. I am home. May I entrust myself as a child of Udon Thani?”

He added, “We must not be careless because last time we missed the mark. This time, I want to look everyone in the eye. I ask if Mr. Samak can join me. Please vote for Pheu Thai candidates both individually and by constituency. Don’t choose wrongly, because if you do, the party will lose both the candidate and the seat.”

Mr. Yotchanan said, “The 30-baht universal healthcare policy helped us get to know each other. Some fell but got back up. We are the party that works for the people. Do you remember the old Thai Rak Thai? Do you remember our struggle? Today, a new struggle begins again for the dreams of Udon Thani people. I am ready to be the 33rd prime minister, born and bred here, the capital of Pheu Thai.”

He said that without political stability, Pheu Thai could not win overwhelmingly. They see the half-half subsidy model, but some cannot manage half. This time, the government pays 70%, the people 30%. This is the most important battle for Udon Thani. Unity is paramount. They will communicate good policies, meet the people, see their hardships, and act immediately.

On 21 Jan, he confirmed their sincere dedication to the people, asking for support for candidates and the party. He said, “We show that this party is a family. Everyone can rely on our MPs and candidates with unity. This Pheu Thai family stems from Thai Rak Thai. We wouldn’t be here without Udon Thani’s longstanding support. Today, please vote for Pheu Thai candidates and party to bring me to be prime minister.”

He vowed that the more-than-half 70:30 policy can be implemented smoothly without disruptions like the Digital Wallet program.

At 12:05 PM, Mr. Yotchanan spoke about campaigning in Udon Thani and confidently reclaiming all 10 constituencies. He said their confidence comes from policies, which can persuade Udon Thani voters to give Pheu Thai another chance in lost districts.

Regarding strategies to return red and orange districts back to red, he said they are delivering and explaining policies to the public. Their candidates have been working on the ground. Internal feedback meets expectations with good response. They hope to win all 10 seats. All districts must work hard and consistently communicate to show commitment. Even districts not won last time continue working and developing additional policies to address local problems for Udon Thani people.

Responding to criticism that the more-than-half 70:30 policy might fail like the Digital Wallet scheme, Mr. Yotchanan said that each stimulus is calculated with budget and additional models to increase government revenue, and they are confident in delivering the policy.

Asked if legal or other issues might disrupt the policy as with Digital Wallet, he replied they have learned lessons and gained experience, implementing mechanisms that can be executed immediately.
