Yotsanan Campaigns in Nong Khai, Says No Problem with Anutins Uncle Criticism

Yotsanan revealed there is no issue after Anutin raised the "Uncle" topic to attack on the campaign stage, believing the public understands. He pointed out that it is clear Pheu Thai is serious about cracking down on scammers. He declined to comment on Thanathorn, saying that choosing the same will result in the same, before campaigning in Nong Khai on a motorcycle sidecar, appealing for votes for Pheu Thai across the province. Tags: [Yotsanan Wangswat, Anutin Charnvirakul, Pheu Thai Party, election campaign, political criticism, Nong Khai]

At 12:05 on 22 Jan 2026 GMT+7, at Phen Pittayakhom School in Udon Thani province, Mr. Yotsanan Wangswat, Pheu Thai Party’s prime ministerial candidate, was interviewed about Mr. Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, the People’s Party campaign assistant, who said that regardless of which party is chosen, the coalition leader will be Bhumjaithai Party, resulting in the same government as before. Yotsanan said that is the speaker’s right and he chooses not to criticize. The most important thing is to respect the voters, who make the choices. Political parties’ duty is to communicate policies clearly and openly, and continuously engage with the public. Ultimately, the people will decide. After that, parties can discuss among themselves, but Pheu Thai’s stance is to deliver policies. If Pheu Thai leads the government, Yotsanan will certainly become prime minister.Tags: [Yotsanan Wangswat, Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, Pheu Thai Party, Bhumjaithai Party, election, government formation]

When asked if saying "choosing the same yields the same result" would affect voters’ decisions, Yotsanan said the public already understands from field visits and straightforward communication. Pheu Thai is also direct. The party targets 200 seats for unity. If leading the government, it will look for parties whose policies align with Pheu Thai’s.Tags: [Yotsanan Wangswat, voter perception, election strategy, Pheu Thai Party, coalition policy]

When asked about Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of Bhumjaithai Party, using the "Uncle" case and nationalism in campaigning, Yotsanan said everyone has patriotism, which must be supported. At the same time, looking forward, economic livelihood requires supporting Thai-made products. Pheu Thai is working systemically to make Thailand a high-income country.Tags: [Anutin Charnvirakul, nationalism, election campaign, patriotism, Pheu Thai Party, economic policy]

Asked whether this would be a weakness open to attack in campaigning, Yotsanan said he sees it as a strength. Pheu Thai strives to differentiate by standing with the people. Today, everyone wants to know parties’ policies and how they communicate them locally. He and the party’s other two prime ministerial candidates are spreading out to gather people’s problems and communicate policies effectively.Tags: [Yotsanan Wangswat, campaign strategy, Pheu Thai Party, voter engagement, policy communication]

Asked if Pheu Thai can explain and clarify the "Uncle" issue if attacked again, Yotsanan said there is no problem. It is clear Pheu Thai is serious about cracking down on scammers, fighting corruption and drugs, and has communicated this on every platform.Tags: [Yotsanan Wangswat, Pheu Thai Party, anti-corruption, scam crackdown, election communication]

Upon arrival, Yotsanan rode a motorcycle sidecar from the front of the rally area to the stage area. Due to a large crowd causing traffic congestion, he then greeted warmly the people who came to welcome him, receiving flowers, marigold garlands, fermented sausage, pork sausage, and crispy pork snacks.Tags: [Yotsanan Wangswat, campaign event, Nong Khai, public reception, motorcycle sidecar]

In a speech, Yotsanan urged to vote for Pheu Thai nationwide. He joked that although Nong Khai has 3 constituencies, it seemed all three were secured. He expressed joy, recalling a morning visit to the market where he bought banana chips and made a content piece, which sold well. He also received pork sausage labeled "Ajarn Chen, keep fighting."Tags: [Yotsanan Wangswat, campaign speech, Pheu Thai Party, Nong Khai, voter appeal]

Yotsanan explained the meaning of his name: 'Yot' means rank or title, 'Anan' means many. However, titles are meaningless unless everything is delivered to the people. Titles belong to the people. Power must be returned to the people through elections. Governments must sacrifice; many seek power. Pheu Thai pledges to reduce state power and return authority to local governments, which Nong Khai can manage well, including in education. No one cares for our children more than family. The government must open budgets to empower localities, and Pheu Thai is ready to do this immediately.Tags: [Yotsanan Wangswat, Pheu Thai Party, decentralization, local governance, education policy, election promises]
