The Election Commission (EC) refutes Kusumalvati's claim, stating the dissolution petition against the Bhumjaithai Party is currently under review and that there is no record of her ever submitting an application to establish a political party. This is in response to her allegations of delay in the dissolution case and obstruction of party formation.
On 23 Jan 2026 at 18:30 GMT+7, the Election Commission Office issued a statement addressing Kusumalvati Sirikomut's interview alleging that the EC is delaying the dissolution case against the Bhumjaithai Party and obstructing the formation of political parties. The EC clarified that the dissolution petition is being processed in accordance with the Election Commission’s regulations on fact-finding and evidence gathering for political party registrars, B.E. 2566 (2023 CE). Upon review, they found that Kusumalvati has never legally submitted an application to establish a political party. However, she had previously notified the party registrar of her attendance at an extraordinary general meeting of the Palang Prachathipatai Party to amend the party’s bylaws and executive committee. Subsequently, the party leader requested to withdraw that meeting agenda, and the registrar approved the withdrawal. Therefore, Kusumalvati Sirikomut's claims are not accurate.
