Pheu Thai campaigned in Khlong Chan flats, proposing policies to reduce expenses and create nine millionaires daily. Julaphan stressed this is not just distributing money but aims to encourage public participation in the economy, enabling the state to increase tax collection.
On 24 January 2026 at 10:00 a.m., Julaphan Amornwiwat, leader of Pheu Thai and prime ministerial candidate, along with his team, visited the Khlong Chan Flats Federation. Together with Pongsakorn Rattanaruangwattana, Pheu Thai candidate for Bangkok's 14th district, number 2, they listened to residents' concerns and communicated the party's policies.
Julaphan and the Pheu Thai team toured the market inside Khlong Chan flats, receiving a warm welcome as usual from vendors and residents. They presented Julaphan and Pongsakorn with flowers and garlands.
Afterward, Julaphan spoke with residents at the basketball court of Khlong Chan flats, stating that Pheu Thai hopes to lead the government to deliver good policies to the people.
Julaphan said that Pheu Thai has always focused on the people and recognizes the urgent struggles of Bangkok residents. Thus, the party designed policies to reduce public expenses, such as a flat 20-baht fare on the BTS and feeder buses to ease travel costs for citizens.
Additionally, there is the 'Housing for Thai People' policy, offering quality homes in good locations with monthly installments of only 4,000 baht. There is also a debt relief policy to help ease citizens' burdens, allowing them to improve their livelihoods and live more comfortably.
Julaphan also mentioned a new policy called 'Create 9 Millionaires Daily,' a program successfully implemented in several countries. It gives people a chance to win a million baht by making purchases at stores that issue receipts. Five winners are drawn daily from shoppers, while the other four come from groups including seniors aged 60 and over, farmers, taxpayers, and volunteers such as public health and village security volunteers.
Julaphan emphasized that this program is not merely distributing money without purpose but is designed to stimulate economic participation, shifting spending from underground to formal channels, thereby increasing government tax revenue. The additional income will be used to develop further national policies.
Khlong Chan residents asked questions and exchanged views on various issues, including drug suppression, scammer gangs, details of the debt relief policy, and the daily millionaire program. The atmosphere was friendly and open.
The Pheu Thai team on site included party-list candidates Polnatcha Jakpetch, Nanat Hongchuwej, and Surakiat Thienthong.
