Chaiwut led the Rakchat Party team to campaign at Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market, appealing for votes to support Siramet, candidate for Bangkok MP in constituency 31, and urged Prime Minister Anutin to address social security issues.
On 24 January 2026 at 09:00, Chaiwut Thanakmanusorn, leader of the Rakchat Party and prime ministerial candidate, along with party members including Wasim Khan, party-list MP candidate; Chutikarn Suwankot, party deputy spokesperson; and Pin Jaengchawai, candidate for Bangkok MP in constituency 28, visited Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market in Bang Ramat Subdistrict, Taling Chan District, Bangkok, to support Siramet Sukakulworachet, candidate for Bangkok MP in constituency 31, number 15.
The campaign atmosphere was lively. Punyawee Sukakulworachet, a well-known news anchor and wife of Siramet, joined the campaign walk, attracting attention from locals and tourists who greeted, encouraged, took photos, and danced along to the song "Rakchat 35" joyfully. Chutikarn, the party deputy spokesperson, also promoted Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market and provided information to tourists in English throughout the route.
During the campaign, Chaiwut addressed the pressing issue most asked by the public: the Social Security Fund. He stated that many insured persons complain their benefits are less than those under the universal healthcare scheme (the 30-baht treatment card), despite paying monthly contributions.
"People often say the benefits are too low and want them to be better than the universal healthcare card. For example, dental care under social security reimburses up to 900 baht, but actual treatment costs nowadays are 2,000 to 3,000 baht, which is insufficient. This needs improvement to match the contributions paid into the fund."
Chaiwut also commented on the recent investigations into corruption within the Social Security Office, saying it is good to scrutinize government agencies for flaws. However, he warned against politicizing the matter excessively, especially regarding the recent election of the Social Security Board, where vote blocking and collusion influenced by political factions were evident.
"The Social Security Board should truly represent the people and labor sectors with independence, free from political domination. Allowing political groups to interfere and place the same people in office undermines independence and could harm the fund."
At the end, Chaiwut sent a message to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul to give special attention to this issue. He urged PM Anutin, who formerly served as Minister of Public Health and understands these problems well, to seriously address and prevent damage to the fund and to restore public confidence.
