The Election Commission (EC) reminds candidates and political parties that they may create documents showing a cross mark in their own voting box for election campaigning, but these materials must not resemble official ballots in size, appearance, or color.
On 24 Jan 2026 GMT+7, the Election Commission Office reiterated a warning to candidates and political parties to exercise caution during election campaigns, particularly regarding the production of documents or promotional materials resembling ballots. This follows the EC regulations on campaigning and prohibited methods for parliamentary elections, B.E. 2561 (2018), as amended, Clause 6(7): "Candidates may produce documents with a cross mark in their own voting box for campaigning, but such materials must not be similar in size, appearance, or color to official ballots."
Candidates and political parties may produce documents featuring a cross mark in their own voting box for their campaign, but these materials must not resemble official ballots in size, appearance, or color. If such actions appear to violate relevant laws or regulations, the Election Commission may investigate or conduct inquiries pursuant to its rules on investigation, inquiry, and adjudication.
