Yotsanan Wongsawat rode a three-wheeled sidecar through the morning market in Nong Bua Lamphu, appealing to voters to elect him as prime minister. He expressed no concern about competing against Chaiya, the former Pheu Thai member, before addressing a rally in Chaiyaphum, urging voters to deliver a landslide victory for Pheu Thai and promising immediate action.
At 09:00 on 25 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat, Pheu Thai Party (PT) prime ministerial candidate, along with Mr. Prasert Chantraruangthong, party secretary-general, Mr. Jakrapong Saengmanee, deputy party leader, and party list MP candidates visited the bus terminal and municipal fresh market in Si Bun Rueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province, to campaign for Mr. Rungphet Srikanchana, candidate for Nong Bua Lamphu MP constituency 2. This area was formerly represented by Mr. Chaiya Phromma, ex-Pheu Thai MP, who has switched to run under the Kla Tham Party.
Upon arrival, Yotsanan and his team paid respects at the Brahma shrine in front of the market, then greeted locals who welcomed them with fresh vegetable flower garlands. Some residents said that whoever joins Pheu Thai is welcome as long as they represent the party. A vendor even hugged and kissed Yotsanan.
Yotsanan gave a brief speech: “We have all come together today as a team. I, Yotsanan Wongsawat, a fellow Thai, am honored to serve the people of Nong Bua Lamphu here. This time, we must unite and sweep all three constituencies by electing Rungphet as MP.” He then introduced the other two Pheu Thai candidates for Nong Bua Lamphu, emphasizing the need to win all three districts.
He continued, saying the economy is weak and the first priority is comprehensive debt relief—non-performing loans, elderly debts—to be done immediately. Agricultural debt relief and suspension of repayments will be enacted at once, with a 30% price guarantee for agricultural products. For traders, the government will cover 70% and citizens only pay 30%. Nong Bua Lamphu is beautiful and tourism must grow sustainably. He pledged to work hard to make Nong Bua Lamphu a top tourist destination.
He added that existing infrastructure will be improved rapidly and corruption eliminated. Narcotics must be eradicated in Nong Bua Lamphu by cracking down on producers and sellers, establishing treatment centers in every province. Scammers and illegal funds will be dealt with decisively. The 30-baht universal healthcare policy will continue, educational funding must reach the youth of Nong Bua Lamphu to ensure access to schooling, promote learning for livelihoods, and provide full welfare support for community health volunteers and local security volunteers.
Yotsanan also said he comes with a sincere heart. With just over a week left, complacency is not an option; unity is essential. Without a decisive win, delivering policies will be difficult. “That’s why I came in person to reaffirm that Nong Bua Lamphu is solidly red territory. I ask for all three constituencies and for Pheu Thai to be elected to work. I, Yotsanan, am ready to be the prime minister of the people of Nong Bua Lamphu.”
Afterward, Yotsanan and his team rode a three-wheeled sidecar to Natthapong (Chudet) Market, greeting citizens along the way. The market atmosphere was lively; a vendor sang "How Long Must I Wait" by Sek Loso, waiting for Yotsanan and complimented him as “very handsome.” An elderly woman expressed her love for Pheu Thai, saying, “The heart is red, the economy is tangible—only Pheu Thai.” After the visit, Yotsanan briefly stated about Nong Bua Lamphu, formerly Chaiya’s area now with Kla Tham Party, that he is not worried because it is Pheu Thai’s territory, not any individual’s. The candidate has been actively campaigning there with high confidence.
At 11:15, Yotsanan and his team arrived to campaign for Ms. Wimeluang Kaewsiri, Chaiyaphum MP candidate for constituency 6, at Phu Khiao School in Chaiyaphum Province. The event was lively with a full crowd. Upon arrival, he greeted people and received garlands made from marigold flowers, cherry tomatoes, rice crackers, sun-dried pork, fresh vegetables, banana chips, sticky rice, and fermented pork sausage.
In his speech, Yotsanan said, “Greetings to all parents and siblings of Chaiyaphum. Today is truly warm; we discussed many issues beyond elections. We have fought continuously. Everyone has dreams and hopes, right? I am ready to turn those hopes and dreams into reality for our people in Chaiyaphum. Chaiyaphum must be a livable city with a good quality of life. One urgent issue is sugarcane—we seek to increase profits and negotiate better shares, including supporting processing to raise sugarcane’s value through science and technology. Another key issue is debt; the first step is a continuous three-year debt moratorium for farmers. This is our first milestone, along with a 30% price guarantee for agricultural products.”
He continued, “Many countries are interested in our sugarcane and rice. We will support loans enabling overseas Thais to open shops or supermarkets. This is a new dimension of Thai exports. Pheu Thai aims to generate new national income to help farmers. Our policies have been consistent from the Thai Rak Thai Party to Pheu Thai, always with the people at heart.”
“We are ready to address informal debts by allowing state banks to provide loans to help citizens pay off informal debts. For non-performing loans up to 200,000 baht, people will pay only 10%, and the rest will be written off. Elderly people with bad debts will be forgiven. Many think this is impossible, but rest assured, it has been carefully studied and is feasible. Chaiyaphum has seven constituencies; may I ask to be accepted as one of your own?”
Yotsanan said, “To eliminate debt, we must fix the entire system. The electricity rate of 3.70 baht per unit will be maintained. This is another step to unlock clean energy. The Thai people and Thailand deserve clean air. If scientists were prime minister, everyone would live well. I am here to declare the final war on drugs—no stopping until eradicated.”
“I cannot succeed alone. We must enter as a team. Last time, without a full team, policies couldn’t be pushed quickly. One MP was removed each year, so everything had to restart. But we have not given up and are fully prepared. If we get in this time, we will act immediately and decisively. Please vote for Pheu Thai for a landslide. Chaiyaphum must be all red territory.”
