Thammanat, Narumon, and Paweena led the Klattham Party to open a campaign rally in Phan District, Chiang Rai, declaring they will not deceive the public, boldly take responsibility, and not hide behind anyone. They cited the Phayao model as proof of their achievements and pledged not to make unrealistic promises, insisting that what they say must be achievable.
At 10:30 a.m. on 25 Jan 2026 GMT+7. Klattham Party. Held a campaign rally at Phan Pittayakom School, Muang Phan Subdistrict, Phan District, Chiang Rai Province. The atmosphere was lively from early morning, with residents from Phan District and nearby areas attending to hear the party’s work plans. Key party leaders spoke in support of the party’s candidates for Chiang Rai’s House of Representatives seats, including: Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao, Klattham Party Advisor and prime ministerial candidate; Ms. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Klattham Party leader; and Ms. Paweena Hongsakul, Social Affairs Advisor to the party. Each took the stage to reflect on local issues alongside presenting the policies the party aims to promote if entrusted by the voters.
Ms. Paweena spoke about Thailand’s current social problems, noting increasing fragility in many areas including family issues, violence against children and women, and people’s livelihoods linked to debt and drug abuse. Drawing on over 30 years of experience in social work assisting children, women, and families, she observed deep-rooted structural problems requiring serious policy-level solutions. Joining the Klattham Party offers an opportunity to elevate social issues into a national agenda.
“Despite ongoing efforts, drug problems persist, so clear strategies are needed to systematically separate and manage drug dealers and users. Dealers must face strict prosecution, while users deserve long-term rehabilitation combined with vocational training and job placement. This approach will help them reintegrate into society with stable incomes, preventing relapse. The Klattham Party will make this a concrete priority.”
Ms. Narumon stated that prime ministerial candidates from many parties are not the real powers behind the scenes. When it comes to governing, key decisions are made by others who remain hidden from the public. For example, voters choose candidate T., but candidate Th. actually decides; voters pick A., but N. decides; voters select Ch., but Y. calls the shots. In contrast, Klattham’s candidate Th. is accountable directly, not a hidden figure. He does not stand behind others issuing orders.
“Political parties should be clear, transparent, and let the public know who truly bears responsibility. Klattham Party nominates only Lt. Col. Thammanat because he works and takes responsibility himself. He does not hide or let others manipulate. Politics must be straightforward, and the public deserves leaders who openly take responsibility for their decisions.”
Lt. Col. Thammanat then openly spoke about his prior visits in Chiang Rai, noting he received many calls from the public expressing desires for development in economy, tourism, infrastructure, and quality of life. He cited his experience and achievements in Phayao Province as an example of multi-faceted development. Although he is 61 years old and not a young politician by age, he has practical experience and results ready to be applied immediately. He asked the public whether they are ready to give new approaches a chance.
He also criticized previous government policies as selling hope and dreams. “I want to ask if anyone has yet received the 10,000 baht promised by the previous government. The old promises remain unfulfilled, yet new giveaways are being planned. This is selling dreams, which we reject. We will not borrow money to distribute handouts, risking economic crisis. Klattham Party will not propose unrealistic policies but focus on what is feasible. What we say, we must be able to do. We will act on our words, not just raise hopes and ultimately disappoint.”
