Theng Pledges to Be an Honest Prime Minister in Call to Write a New Chapter in the Nations History

Thananathorn declared that a people's government is possible in the 8 Feb election and called for an overwhelming vote for the People's Party. Meanwhile, Theng invited everyone to write a new chapter in the nation's history, pledging to be an honest prime minister working for the highest benefit of the people.

At 19:00 on 25 Jan 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Thananathorn Juangroongruangkit, Chairman of the Progressive Movement and campaign assistant for the People's Party (PP). He spoke forcefully on the People's Party's main stage at Samyan Mitrtown, saying that previously people said a people's government was impossible, that even if they won first place they could not form a government. But he came here to tell everyone it is possible. Our mission is to make the impossible possible. This election, we no longer have the Senate members who have the power to vote jointly with the House of Representatives for the prime minister.

The existence of Senate power in voting for the prime minister caused election results to not align with government formation and distorted the people's will. In the 2019 election, Pheu Thai won first place but could not form a government. In 2023, Move Forward Party was the top party but still could not form government due to Senate power. But this election, that mechanism no longer exists. No one can block us from forming a government anymore. If we receive overwhelming support as the number one party, our leader, Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, will immediately become prime minister.

Thananathorn continued, saying why do they spread rumors and false news that even if we win first place we cannot form a government? Because they have nothing left to stop us at the last minute. Their only tool now is false stories to make people lose hope, feel discouraged, and afraid to open the door to new possibilities. He asked why they want to do this. The reason to stop us: two years and eight months ago before the 2023 election, Mr. Chaitawat Tulathon said we are at a turning point of an era. They fear the arrival of a new era, an era that will correct past wrongs and restore the right path, an era that departs from a distorted course.

This abnormality and distortion are corruption that should be abnormal but today is widespread. Drugs, which should be abnormal in society, have spread widely. The current political system normalizes these things. Anyone who is corrupt or breaks the law but serves as a tool to maintain this system will not go to jail. He cited examples like the Tak Bai case and the 'borrowed friend's watch' case. They fear change and so do everything to hold back progress and attack us unjustly every day. Therefore, in a distorted society, straightforwardness is alien. In a society accustomed to darkness, those who shine light are outsiders. From Future Forward to Move Forward to the People's Party, we have shown this is not about any individual.

We are united by the same ideology, sharing a dream to pass on a better society to people. We work humbly with confidence in each other's skills, dividing tasks with trust, moving forward together toward our shared goal. This is what they fear. More importantly, this time we are not only prepared to be MPs but have also prepared an administrative team because since after the 2023 election we knew we would definitely win next time, so we prepared a ready team. This time we tell the people we are more ready, with more quality personnel. In this election, we are ready to take responsibility for Thailand's future and for the quality of life of all Thai people.

All of this is the greatest pride in my political journey and work. I founded Future Forward Party in 2018; today, 2026, marks exactly eight years of this journey. What I am most proud of is the popularity everyone has given, but above all, I am proud to have had the chance to be part of building this team to deliver to everyone.

Thananathorn added that many people worry and ask if, after winning the election and receiving the people's mandate, will they give us another license. He responded that the question is wrong. It is not whether they will grant us a license or not, but whether we will allow it to be so. If we accept it, in the remaining two weeks let's work together to make them unable to reject us, to make the People's Party win overwhelmingly. The power to determine the country's future is now in your hands. Decide the future of Thai society with your own ballot mark.

"We have no influence, no network of vote brokers, no legal magic power, no big money to put up signs at every intersection. But we have a resource more powerful and valuable than that — the only resource we have is you. Let's journey together in these last two weeks to make the impossible possible together. In 2019, they dismissed us as impossible; this party never had politicians or powerful houses before. We have shown we can make the impossible possible together. I ask everyone to do your best at what you can. Let's open the door to possibility together. Let's open the door to a new era together."

Thananathorn also said that everyone’s encouragement is the driving force to move forward. Then he introduced Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People's Party and the next prime minister for all the people.

"Nattapong" invites writing a new chapter in the country's history on 8 Feb.

At 19:25 Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People's Party and prime minister candidate, gave the final speech, saying he is excited that Thailand will be better. Today, he invites everyone to join in writing a new chapter in Thailand’s history. This new chapter cannot be written by him or the People's Party alone; it is a new chapter that all people help write.

In the past, when flipping through this book, many Thai patriots like himself may find a page from history from an era when we felt proud of this country — an era when we were called the fifth tiger of Asia, an era when we proudly hosted world-class events such as the Asian Games and SEA Games. We were proud as the kitchen of the world. He asked how much of that pride remains today. Even if the country now may lack that past pride, he urges people to keep it and transform it into contemporary pride that we will build anew for our children. This election is history where we will write a new chapter.

Nattapong continued, “In the past 8 years, you have proven to us that no matter how many times Future Forward or Move Forward was dissolved or destroyed, the winds of change never return. I invite everyone to write a new chapter. The next chapter does not start after 8 Feb when the People's Party wins the election, but starts today, 25 Jan, at Samyan Mitrtown.”

From today until 8 Feb, the first choice is old politics with the blue party leading government formation — will you accept it? The other choice is future politics, a new chapter inviting everyone to join and write it together — will you accept it? Please do not stop believing or hoping. It is the people's duty to move forward to the election to achieve change. Then Nattapong and the crowd shouted number 46, the People's Party’s election number.

Pledges to be an honest, humble prime minister, standing firm against dictatorship.

The People's Party's prime minister candidate said that since the people have pledged to him, this prime minister pledges back. Then the crowd shouted, “Prime Minister Theng,” and he continued speaking. “I pledge that this prime minister, all MPs of this party, and all party representatives will be honest with the people, not lie or deceive. I pledge that this prime minister and all MPs will be humble to the people and steadfast against dictatorship. I pledge that when this prime minister and party MPs take office, they will work for the highest benefit of the people, not to fill their own pockets. I pledge that if I find anyone who is corrupt or dishonest, this prime minister will take action.”

Finally, Nattapong urged that on 8 Feb, everyone help be a force, natural vote brokers, to join in forming a people's government to build a future for our children and lead Thailand forward together. Then Ms. Panikarn Vanich, a campaign assistant for the People's Party, asked the crowd which prime minister they wanted, "Aor" or "Na." The crowd responded with “Nattapong.” After the speech ended, the crowd lit candles and flashlights to shine light on the country.
