“Abhisit” campaigns in Chumphon, fans flock to welcome him at Tha Sae market. He revealed that “Mother Earth” granted success as the rain visibly stopped, reaffirming the Democrat Party’s commitment to solving livelihood issues and fighting corruption.
26 Jan 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party and prime ministerial candidate, arrived in Chumphon Province with his team. The atmosphere was lively, especially at Tha Sae market, where many locals waited to warmly welcome him with loud cheers. “We miss you, Prime Minister Abhisit!” These shouts echoed along the route.
Mr. Abhisit greeted the people of Tha Sae from a loudspeaker vehicle, sharing a remarkable event that occurred upon his arrival. He said that prior to his visit, the area had continuous heavy rain, but as soon as the plane landed in Chumphon, the rain stopped immediately. He added cheerfully, “Why is the rain like this? I explained to them that before I came, Mother Earth sent water to drive away all the gray clouds. Then the rain would stop—and it really did, folks.” His words caused excitement and brought smiles to the villagers gathered to hear his speech.
During his meeting with the public, Mr. Abhisit stressed why the Democrat Party must return to serve the people. He pointed to the hardships faced by southern residents and all Thai people, dealing with economic problems and politics focused solely on vested interests and corruption. He affirmed that the Democrat Party is ready to revive the economy and restore integrity to Thai politics.
“Thank you for the flowers, thank you for the garlands, thank you to many who said they missed me, and thank you to everyone who gave me a hug. People of Chumphon really hug strongly... Folks, today the Democrat Party returns because we know that you here and all Thai people are suffering. You are suffering because our country has recently faced politics filled with vested interests and corruption, which has worsened the economy and your daily hardships.”
