On 26 January 2026, reporters reported thatthe Facebook page “Um Pansuk”belonging to Um Soraya Uphayaprom, a well-known model, shared a video of a violent incident involving her family in Udon Thani Province. A man, a soldier, fired a gun at her brother-in-law. Fortunately, no one was injured. The video shows her brother-in-law’s van pulling up in front of the house, followed by the soldier’s car parking nearby. Both parties exchanged heated words and insults before the soldier drew a gun and fired, narrowly missing the person but hitting the vehicle. The brother-in-law fled to take shelter inside the house. The incident occurred around 16:26 on 25 January 2026.
Most recently, Major General Winthai Suwaree, Army spokesperson, stated that the Army has investigated and confirmed the individual is a soldier with a record of repeated offenses since 2024. The unit has disciplined him continuously. Earlier this January, he went AWOL. The unit is proceeding with his dismissal according to regulations.
