Dr. Supat Exposes Bhumjaithai Ministers 4:3 Vote to Dismiss Him, Aiming to Disqualify His MP Candidacy

Dr. Supat Hasuwannakit claimed that a Bhumjaithai party minister chaired a 4-to-3 vote to dismiss him, aiming to cut him off by disqualifying his eligibility to run for MP, thereby blocking his opportunity to clean up grey-area politics in the Ministry of Public Health. He asserted he remains an MP candidate and sarcastically noted this only fuels the momentum of the Orange Wave.

At 11:33 a.m. on 26 Jan 2026 GMT+7. Dr. Supat Hasuwannakit. Candidate for Member of the House of Representatives (MP) for Songkhla from the Prachachon Party (PChon). Posted a message viaFacebook. He stated, “Revealing the truth: the strategy to cut my legs to prevent me from entering Parliament.” It began with the insertion of an agenda on 22 Jan 2026 — an extraordinary agenda about injustice. The documents distributed at the meeting were only brief summaries prepared by the disciplinary committee. None of the seven committee members had seen the full documents, including the allegations, my responses, or any supporting materials.

. . . Ultimately, the meeting resulted in a 3-to-3 vote. Three committee members who are still civil servants in the Ministry of Public Health voted for dismissal, while the other three external experts — from the Civil Service Commission (CSC), management, and workforce specialists — voted against dismissal. The chairperson, a minister from the Bhumjaithai party, cast a deciding vote for dismissal, making the final tally 4 to 3.

“If I am dismissed from civil service, I would fall under the disqualification criteria for MP candidates under Article 98(8) of the 2017 Constitution, which prohibits anyone who has been removed from government service. This means, if successful, I would be knocked out and disqualified from running for representative (though this is not straightforward and involves several legal procedures).”

Dr. Supat further revealed that among the civil servant committee members voting for his dismissal, one had to attend the meeting online from Trang province, seemingly reluctantly, as otherwise the dismissal vote would fail. The CSC expert could not tolerate the injustice and informed the meeting that he would take the matter to the higher CSC committee for further review, preventing the disciplinary committee from reaching a final conclusion.

“In summary, I remain an MP candidate. The attempt to cut my legs nearly succeeded. Although the committee voted 4 to 3 to dismiss me, the dismissal has not been finalized because the CSC representative requested escalation to a fairer higher committee. For me, this is clearly a plan to block my entry to Parliament because my momentum is strong and to prevent me from cleaning up grey-area politics in the Ministry of Public Health. Hence, they launched this leg-cutting strategy hoping to disqualify me from being an MP.”

Dr. Supat also affirmed that those who initiated this move are mistaken. He is more determined than ever to campaign fully. The people of Hat Yai are knowledgeable and understand the truth. Both the people of Hat Yai and all Thai citizens love justice. Such underhanded tactics only strengthen the Orange Wave's momentum for both the party and candidates. He started the Rural Medical Operation to storm Bangkok during the severe COVID-19 outbreak in 2021, was investigated disciplinarily in 2023 after opposing the cannabis liberalization policy, and now, in 2026, just 15 days before the election, this verdict is delivered. Isn't that an incredible coincidence?
