Sarayuth, Secretary-General of the Prachachon Party, revealed they must accept the situation if Dr. Supat is dismissed from government service due to a serious disciplinary offense, which may disqualify him from being an MP candidate and prevent replacement. He could not help but question whether this is a political tactic to block the Orange Party.
26 Jan 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Sarayuth Jailak, Secretary-General of the Prachachon Party (Prachachon). He gave an interview regarding reports that the Subcommittee of the Ministry of Public Health (MPH) is reviewing disciplinary offenses of Dr. Supat Hasuwannakit, also known as Dr. Supat, former director of Saba Yoi Hospital and MP candidate for Songkhla under the Prachachon Party.
Mr. Sarayuth said, Currently, we must wait for clarity on the final outcome. If the process confirms dismissal from government service due to a serious disciplinary offense, it will affect his qualifications. We cannot do much since we cannot change the candidate; we must proceed. We may lose one person.
When asked if he had spoken with Dr. Supat, Mr. Sarayuth said he had not yet, as he has been traveling in another province. Regarding plans if the decision is finalized, he preferred not to comment yet, awaiting legal clarity. However, he believes whatever the outcome, they must accept it.
Regarding whether society might see this disciplinary action as politically motivated, Mr. Sarayuth said that suspicion is understandable and has been noted by them in previous cases, not only this one. He added that with prior candidates and ongoing reports of more cases, they cannot help but question whether this is a tactic to block the Prachachon Party. It is a question worth asking. .
