Health Minister Clarifies Dismissal of Dr. Supat Can Still Be Appealed, Unrelated to Politics, Not an Order from Anutin

Pattana Promphat, Minister of Public Health, clarified that the Civil Service Commission’s resolution to dismiss Dr. Supat Hasuwannakit is not politically motivated and was not ordered by Anutin. He pointed out the resolution was issued before he assumed office and said Dr. Supat can still appeal.

26 Jan 2026 GMT+7 Pattana Promphat, Minister of Public Health. He gave an interview regarding the Ministry of Public Health’s Civil Service Commission meeting, which passed a resolution following a disciplinary investigation. Dr. Supat Hasuwannakit or Dr. Supat during his tenure as director of Chana Hospital, Songkhla Province, concerning the procurement of ATK test kits, found guilty and dismissed from government service. The meeting was routine, and the dismissal decision followed the disciplinary investigation committee’s resolution, which was issued before I took office,

Pattana continued, It is now at the stage of signature by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health, and Dr. Supat can still appeal. I confirm there was no order from Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to make this resolution, and there is no political issue involved. I only recently learned that Dr. Supat is running for MP, so people may draw their own conclusions.

When asked if the resolution might be connected to the SKYY9 building and the Social Security Office, Pattana replied that he is not involved. He previously explained to parliament that the building was not sold to the Social Security Office but to investors who purchased it. The buyers then invested billions themselves to renovate it. After two to three years, it was sold again to an individual, and he later learned that this buyer was the Social Security Office.
