Pita Unveils Three-Ministry Plan to Support Rayong, Sends Encouragement to Doctor Supat Amid Songkhla Candidacy

Pita campaigns to support the People’s Party, unveiling a plan involving three ministries to oversee Rayong. He sends encouragement to Doctor Supat in Hat Yai, affirming his right to contest the Songkhla MP seat, and urges candidates not to lose focus amidst sabotage attempts, emphasizing calm determination for greater goals.

26 Jan 2026 GMT+7 Pita Limjaroenrat, former leader of the Move Forward Party and currently a campaign assistant for the People’s Party, spoke at the fountain square of Star Plaza, Mueang District, Rayong Province, before an audience of local residents. He emphasized Rayong’s importance economically and environmentally, announcing a plan to have the party manage three key ministries: the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Industry, and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, to seriously address environmental problems, industrial impacts, and public health in Rayong.

At the same time, Pita referenced lessons from the oil spill incidents at Mae Ramphueng Beach four years ago and Ao Phrao on Koh Samet ten years ago as clear examples of impacts that must not recur. He affirmed the People’s Party’s intent to work closely across legislative and executive branches to ensure concrete solutions. Noting that in the previous election the Move Forward Party received over 230,000 votes in Rayong—53% of all votes cast—he expressed confidence that fielding candidates in all five districts this time would effectively promote environmental and public health policies if entrusted by voters.

Regarding the emerging coalition of local political groups or 'big houses,' Pita said he was not worried because the People’s Party focuses on candidate teamwork and direct voter engagement. He believes that if voters turn out massively as before, they will decide who is most suitable. He reiterated that the People’s Party is confident about its vote share, expecting it to be high enough to prevent the second-ranked party from forming a competing government. He called on Rayong residents to vote on 8 February to support the People’s Party and its local candidates.

Later, Pita was asked about the case involving the Ministry of Public Health’s Subcommittee on Disciplinary Matters (A.K.P.Sor.) reviewing disciplinary charges against Dr. Supat Hasuwannakit, also known as Doctor Supat, former director of Saba Yoi Hospital and People’s Party candidate for Songkhla MP. He sent support from Rayong to Hat Yai, acknowledging that the process was not yet concluded and affirming that Dr. Supat still has the right to run fully as a representative for the people of Songkhla.

“I send my full support to Doctor Supat to move forward strongly. He is now known nationwide and is sure to win the Songkhla MP seat for the People’s Party,” Pita said.

When asked if he worried about similar cases happening again, Pita said it is a normal part of Thai politics and urged candidates not to lose focus. Speaking as the former Move Forward Party leader to his People’s Party colleagues, both old and new, he advised them to stay focused, follow their strategic and operational plans, and maintain calm determination when thinking big.
