Thammanat led the Klattham Party campaign rally in Lampang, appealing to voters for all MPs in the province, announcing plans to push the Nam Wang mega project to solve flooding and drought problems and develop the city as a major tourist destination. He declined to comment on Ice Rakchanok, leaving the matter to proceed through proper processes and procedures.
At 5:30 p.m. on 26 Jan 2026 at the sports field inside Thenwittaya School, Then District, Lampang Province. Captain Thammanat Prompao, Party Advisory Chairman and candidate of the Klattham Party, gave an interview during which a reporter asked, Ms. Rakchanok Srinok, . and Mr. Rangsiman Rome, list PR MP candidates of the People's Party, traveled to Phayao Province to attend court. Was there anything he wished to say? Captain Thammanat smiled and said he had nothing to add, leaving it to proceed according to the process. He expressed confidence that the Klattham Party would win the hearts of voters in Lampang's 4th district and successfully secure the MP seat.
Today's major Klattham Party rally was led by Captain Thammanat, Mrs. Narumon Pinyo Sinwat, party leader, and Mrs. Pawina Hongsakul, social advisory chairperson. They campaigned in support of the Lampang MP candidates: Ariwat Srichaianun (District 1), Dachai Ekpathapee (District 2), Rapeepan Photong (District 3), and Ms. Penpak Rattanakham (District 4). The event was lively with a large crowd of citizens attending.
Captain Thammanat took the stage to thank the public for attending and noted that he has visited Lampang frequently, especially during his tenure as minister. He highlighted the Nam Wang watershed gate construction project in Then District as a key initiative to address flooding and agricultural water shortages. The project concept dates back to 2017 but had stalled until he became Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, when he ordered a feasibility study, design, and budget proposal for 2026 of about 700 million baht. Currently, the project is preparing for contractor procurement. He affirmed his commitment to advocate for and protect the project budget in parliament for the benefit of local people.
Captain Thammanat also discussed Lampang's overall development, saying it was once a major city in northern Thailand, comparable in prosperity to many large provinces. However, recent development has concentrated in main cities, causing provinces like Lampang to slow down and become mere transit points. He believes development has lacked leadership continuity and policy drive. He proposed serious development projects and stronger central linkages to restore the province's economic potential.
“No politician is completely innocent. What matters most are achievements and the ability to solve people's problems rather than image attacks. Politics should be judged by tangible results. A member of parliament's role is to truly represent the people, to visit their areas regularly, and not disappear after elections. Once elected, they must be effective.”
At the end, Captain Thammanat asked the public to give new candidates from the Klattham Party a chance to work, replacing the old familiar faces that have yet to bring change. The Klattham Party was founded by northerners and aims to be a party genuinely for the people of northern Thailand.
