Ink Patthongtharn campaigned in Chiang Rai by riding a motorcycle rickshaw through the alleys of Rong Bo village, appealing to villagers to support Yim Wisaradee, the Pheu Thai Party candidate for the House of Representatives. She emphasized poverty alleviation policies that won hearts and assured that what is promised will be delivered.
On 26 Jan 2026 GMT+7, reporters covered the atmosphere of the campaign visit in Chiang Rai province by Ms. Patthongtharn Shinawatra, former Prime Minister and head of the Pheu Thai family, along with party leaders, to support Ms. Wisaradee Techateerawat, the Pheu Thai candidate for Chiang Rai’s 4th constituency, during the final campaign stretch. A highlight was Rong Bo village, Moo 12, Huai Sak subdistrict, Mueang district, Chiang Rai province. The campaign strategy was adjusted to engage with the villagers’ lifestyle. Ms. Patthongtharn chose to ride a motorcycle rickshaw (sidecar motorcycle) owned by a local, traveling through the village alleys to meet residents informally. Amid cheers of “Go Pheu Thai!” and warm welcomes, villagers presented marigold flowers and requested selfies along the route, creating a particularly lively atmosphere.
Ms. Patthongtharn said at one point, “Today, I come not only as the head of the Pheu Thai family but also as a local descendant who wants to see our people live well. I ask you to trust Yim Wisaradee and the Pheu Thai Party, who make promises they can truly keep.”
During this visit, Ms. Patthongtharn reiterated the key policies intended to address the livelihood issues of Huai Sak and Chiang Rai residents. These include stimulating the local economy to ensure money circulates to village shops; upgrading the 30-baht universal healthcare scheme to be accessible everywhere using only an ID card for the convenience of those in remote areas; debt relief for farmers on both principal and interest to help local farmers improve their lives; and sustainable water management to resolve flooding and drought problems in the northern region.
Ms. Wisaradee stated that the visit by the 31st former Prime Minister to Rong Bo greatly boosted morale for both the campaign team and villagers. She pledged to serve the people of constituency 4 and to advocate for the needs of Huai Sak residents to be advanced into national policies successfully.
Reporters added that this campaign visit is viewed as a crucial strategy to maintain Pheu Thai’s stronghold with a landslide victory in Chiang Rai amid intense competition from rival parties.
