"Theng" strongly criticizes the Social Security Office's budget used for tailoring suits, accusing it of using workers' hard-earned money to satisfy its own needs. He asks how long the "Care Pension" will be left pending and why it has not been approved.
On 27 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People’s Party (PPP), spoke ahead of the Minister of Labor's upcoming discussion on social security issues, stating that the party has been closely monitoring and investigating this matter for a long time—not just during election campaigns. He questioned why the "Care Pension" proposal, which has been on the government’s table for a long time, still has not been approved. He affirmed that if the People’s Party forms the government, it will immediately advance this issue to ensure workers receive fair welfare benefits.
Mr. Natthapong also commented on the Social Security Office controversy involving the fund being used to pay for suits for government officials. He said everything is under public scrutiny, emphasizing that the fund’s money is the sweat and contributions of workers, and should be used to maximize benefits for insured persons—not for the interests of certain groups. He urged an audit of the budget’s cost-effectiveness, noting that what the public wants to see is transparency and tangible change, not actions that clash with the expectations of workers nationwide.
