On 27 January 2026 in Songkhla Province, Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, Minister of Industry and a party-list MP candidate for the Bhumjaithai Party, visited Padang Besar Municipality in Sadao District to support Anukul Pruksanusakorn, the Bhumjaithai candidate for Songkhla Constituency 6. Thanakorn listened to issues at the customs checkpoint and the Padang Besar permanent border crossing, and studied the Padang Besar special economic zone, part of the Songkhla Special Economic Zone (SEZ), aimed at stimulating the local economy under the Economic Plus policy. He also met with local residents.
Thanakorn told the public, "I have come to ask for your votes to support one of our own. Anukul has devoted himself to caring for this area for the past five years, waiting for the chance to be a representative. If the people do not support a hardworking and good person like him this time, I will tell the candidate to step down and pursue another career, because this election is a showdown between local power influence and hardworking people.
