"Phiphat" confirms Disneyland Thailand is achievable and not just a dream, highlighting the EEC as a global entertainment hub that will attract concerts and sports events without any casinos.
On 27 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, who oversees the EEC, reaffirmed confidence in the “Disneyland Thailand” project, emphasizing it is a strategic initiative that is feasible, not merely an imagination. He unveiled plans to upgrade the EEC area into more than just an amusement park, transforming it into a world-class entertainment hub featuring a concert hall and an 80,000-seat stadium to attract global artists and international sports events. He firmly confirmed that “there will be no casinos” in this project.
Mr. Phiphat stated that the key is “policy continuity.” The EEC is currently studying the project as a PPP to attract major private investors, leveraging existing infrastructure such as high-speed rail and airports. He cited the past success of the Phuket Sandbox model as proof that with capable leadership and the Bhumjaithai Party leading the government formation, this world-class project will be successfully pushed through without letting the opportunity slip away to neighboring countries.
