Rangsiman Rome clarified that Thammanat withdrew the lawsuit only against Ice Rakchanok, while he himself attended the preliminary hearing with his lawyer. He revealed the court is scheduled to rule on March 19, and if the case is found valid, the trial must continue.
On 27 January 2026, regarding the withdrawal of the lawsuit by Major Thammanat Prompao, Chairman Advisor of the Kla Party and prime ministerial candidate, after filing a defamation suit against Ms. Rakchanok Srinok and Mr. Rangsiman Rome, a party-list MP candidate of the Prachachon Party, seeking 100 million baht in damages. The Phayao Provincial Court held a preliminary hearing yesterday (26 January). Both parties attended court amid supporters and protest groups gathered outside.
Subsequently, Mr. Rangsiman clarified viaFacebookto address misunderstandings that "1. Thammanat has indeed withdrawn the case against Ice. Anyone wanting to know why must hear it directly from Thammanat. 2. As for my case, Thammanat has not withdrawn the lawsuit. I attended the preliminary hearing with my lawyer, and the court scheduled the ruling for 9:30 AM on 19 March 2026. If the court finds the case valid, I will have to continue fighting the case."
Besides attending the preliminary hearing, I traveled to campaign in District 2 of Phayao. The atmosphere was very positive with overwhelming support. I personally believe the people of Phayao are ready for change. We must work together to make Phayao different and bring change to Thailand.
