Anutin Says Use Money Wisely After Criticism of Low Campaign Spending, Stresses Need for Reserves in Emergencies

Anutin says to "use money wisely" after being seen as spending little on campaigning, insisting on having reserve funds for emergencies. He urges silence after the Bangkok commander reveals the final strategy, saying "If they don't choose us, they're sure to come. Blue is the way out."

On 27 Jan 2026, Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party and prime ministerial candidate, responded to assessments that the party might win 200 parliamentary seats by saying they must do their best. He also referred to Ms. Supamas Isarapakdi, responsible for overseeing the Bhumjaithai Party's Bangkok area, who announced their final election campaign phase. "If they don't choose us, they will definitely come. Don't waste your vote. Now there are only two sides, left and right. The way out is blue," she said. Asked if that was a clear statement, Anutin smiled before replying. "When others are criticized, I think it's better I keep quiet. No more. We must build unity," he said.

Anutin continued that they face many challenges from other countries, including economic and security conflicts and trade advantages and disadvantages. They must apply the same principle as when dealing with neighboring countries—creating unity at home. The military, as the nation's shield, has fought and swiftly won victories. He believes that since politics is a competition to be representatives, if they quarrel, it’s as if the people quarrel, which brings no benefit to Thailand.

When asked why Bhumjaithai is spending less this election and if there are concerns, Anutin laughed and replied, "Use money wisely. Don’t say we spend little. When we spend a lot, they complain; when we spend little, they complain too. It’s better to say we use money effectively, to get the most benefit. This way, we have reserves to ensure confidence in case of emergencies, so we don’t have to rely on anyone else and can be as self-reliant as possible."
