Thai Khao Mai Party Holds Major Rally in Thonburi, Promotes Genuine Free Education, Student Debt Cancellation, and Social Security Reform

The Thai Khao Mai Party brought its candidates for 33 Bangkok constituencies and party-list candidates together for a major rally in Thonburi beneath the Rama 8 Bridge. "Tun" highlighted genuine free education, reducing inequality, solving recurring floods, and reforming the social security fund.

At 19:00 on 27 Jan 2026 GMT+7, The Thai Khao Mai Party held a campaign rally in Thonburi at Rama 8 Bridge, Bang Phlat District, Bangkok, led by Mr. Suchatvee Suwansawat, or Dr. Ae, party leader; Khun Ying Kalaya Sophonpanich, party advisory chair; and two prime ministerial candidates, Ms. Jitpas Tun Kridakorn, head of the Equality and Human Security team and party-list candidate, alongside other party-list and Bangkok constituency candidates for all 33 districts. Many supporters attended. The stage featured candidate introductions and emphasized party policies focused on building human capital for the future, reducing inequality, solving Bangkok flooding, and addressing natural disasters.

Ms. Jitpas said in part that she thanked the people for welcoming the new, small Thai Khao Mai Party to vote number 49. She has been in politics for 19 years, starting at age 22 as a permanent official in the Prime Minister's Office and secretary to ministers. She ran for Dusit-Ratchathewi constituency MP and served as a party-list MP. She decided to join Dr. Ae and Khun Ying Kalaya to pursue change unlike before.

She continued that in 19 years of politics, she has focused on inequality because it affects people's livelihoods. Today, no need to discuss the economy or cost of living because markets and tourism are quiet, businesses are down, and people face hardship. These stem from inequality. Their first policy is truly free education—not just promises as seen over 18-19 years in politics. No party has actually delivered free education because of equipment fees, uniform costs, travel expenses, and over 8 million students remain in student loan debt. They plan to reform the Ministry of Education, cancel student loan debts for Thai people, and provide truly free, quality education. Without quality, inequality and injustice cannot be eliminated, nor can society be stable.

“It is sad today because no matter where you look, there are political games. To the left, parties promise government but dissolve parliament to avoid no-confidence debates. Elsewhere, the military is devalued. Where do we stand? I stand here because I want to see change. When visiting Sa Kaeo Province with Thai Khao Mai candidates, I saw homes hit by Cambodian BM-21 rockets inside Thailand, leaving people devastated with roofs gone. The government’s compensation policy pays money without assessing the real damage, approving only 5,000 baht. Has the government really inspected the damage? The figures don’t match reality. In Hat Yai District, floods caused economic decline and still no compensation policy supports residents there.”

These two situations leave people vulnerable and neglected. But if they choose Thai Khao Mai Party, under Dr. Ae Suchatvee’s leadership, they will move forward and leave no one behind. The future of the party and all candidates is in the hands of the people, both decided and undecided voters. Today, they ask to entrust the future to the new, small party that will not remain small.

Khun Ying Kalaya emphasized that education is the most important tool to change lives and the foundation of livelihoods. Without education, there is no good job or stable income. She affirmed the Thai Khao Mai Party’s commitment to push for truly equal free education to create real opportunities for all Thai children. She also proposed modern agricultural development using new technology, including water management, increasing farmers’ income, and cultivating economic crops like soybeans to systematically raise people’s income.

At one point, Khun Ying Kalaya addressed social security fund management, questioning the use of funds contributed by over 24 million insured persons. She cited news about inappropriate spending, including expensive overseas trips, multi-million-baht calendar production annually, and purchasing buildings worth billions. She confirmed the party’s plan to reform the social security fund to be transparent, accountable, and to stop wasteful spending.

After the rally, Mr. Suchatvee, leader of the Thai Khao Mai Party, said in an interview, The Thai Khao Mai Party aims to increase its number of MPs as much as possible in the final campaign stretch. He reiterated the party’s firm stance on seriously solving recurring flooding in Bangkok and nationwide, supported reforming social security fund management, and affirmed full support for the military on border security issues. .
