The People's Party issued a statement confirming that Dr. Supat retains his status as the party's parliamentary candidate and is prepared to fight through all available channels if the Ministry of Public Health issues an unfair dismissal order.
On 28 January 2026, reporters reported that on 27 January, the People's Party issued a statement regarding the dismissal of Dr. Supat Hasuwannakit from government service, stating the following.
According to reports, on 22 January 2026, the Civil Service Subcommittee (CSC) of the Ministry of Public Health, chaired by Mr. Pattana Prompadh, Minister of Public Health and a party-list candidate of the Bhumjaithai Party, passed a majority vote to dismiss Dr. Supat Hasuwannakit, former director of Chana Hospital in Songkhla Province, from government service. Dr. Supat has since resigned to run as the People's Party candidate for the House of Representatives in Songkhla's constituency 2.
The People's Party would like to clarify the facts as follows.
1. The party confirms that Dr. Supat currently remains a legally recognized candidate for the House of Representatives of the party in Songkhla's constituency 2, until the Supreme Court issues an order removing him from candidacy in that constituency.
2. The party affirms that if the Ministry of Public Health orders Dr. Supat's dismissal for serious disciplinary reasons, the People's Party and Dr. Supat will fully contest this decision through all processes, including administrative procedures within the civil service system, the election commission of Songkhla constituency 2, and judicial proceedings, citing factual, legal grounds and precedents set by the Constitutional Court.
3. The People's Party believes that if the dismissal order against Dr. Supat is unlawful, unjust, and reasonably suspected to be intended to harass him, thereby harming his candidacy, the party and Dr. Supat will fight to the utmost to uphold justice within the civil service, protect Dr. Supat's rightful rights, and safeguard the rights of voters wishing to elect him as their representative in Songkhla's constituency 2.
