Government Advises Advance Ticket Booking for 2026 Election Travel Transport Co. Expects 100,000 Daily Passengers

The government advises citizens to book tickets in advance to travel and exercise their voting rights on 8 Feb 2026. Transport Co. is fully prepared with buses, staff, and bus stations to ensure convenience and safety.

On 28 Jan 2026, Ms. Airin Punrit, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, stated that the government, through Transport Co. (BorKorSor) under the Ministry of Transport, is ready to facilitate citizens traveling to vote in the general election on Sunday, 8 Feb 2026. Transport Co. anticipates passengers gradually departing from Bangkok to provinces nationwide between 6-7 Feb 2026, with an average of 130,000 passengers daily on round trips, using about 7,000 bus trips per day (including BorKorSor and affiliated buses). For return trips on 8-9 Feb 2026, an average of 100,000 passengers per day is expected, using approximately 6,000 bus trips daily.

To prevent passenger backlogs, Transport Co. has requested cooperation from operators to provide about 350 non-regular buses (registration 30) on various routes. Citizens planning to travel during the election period are encouraged to book tickets in advance via the Transport Co. website https://tcl99web.transport.co.th, the E-ticket application, Facebook page: BorKorSor (www.facebook.com/BorKorSor99), Line: BorKorSor99 (ID: @TCL99), ticket counters nationwide, or by calling 0-2936-3660.

The government has mandated safety oversight for buses, bus stations, and staff under safety protocols. This includes pre-service bus inspections and equipment checks. Drivers are required to have adequate rest, undergo drug testing, maintain zero blood alcohol levels, and strictly follow traffic laws to ensure passenger safety and build public confidence in the public transport system.
