Abhisit Tours The Sun Market, Emphasizes Parliamentary Control to Block Grey Government

Abhisit led candidates on a market tour to seek support, confident of overcoming resistance in the capital to plant their flag again, hoping to control the parliamentary game to block the 'grey government.'

On 28 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party and its prime ministerial candidate, led the Bangkok MP candidates to campaign at The Sun building market, seeking votes from office workers and vendors, receiving a warm welcome.

Abhisit stated that the final phase strategy is to communicate with city residents to gain support for the party to become the 'game controller' in parliament. He reiterated a clear stance that the new government must be free from corruption, devoid of grey capital influences, and must govern independently to reduce social division.

Abhisit also expressed confidence that the Democrat Party will surely reclaim Bangkok parliamentary seats, noting that competitors differ by district based more on facts than political rhetoric. Regarding rival parties bringing famous leaders to campaign, he said this is a legitimate democratic practice, but the Democrat Party will continue focusing on presenting constructive policies and working for the public interest.
