"Pita" campaigns in Samut Songkhram to support a candidate aiming to secure a second term to resolve issues on Rama 2 Road, highlighting the "5 S" plan to revive Mae Klong's economy and community.
On 28 Jan 2026 at the city pillar shrine plaza in Samut Songkhram, Pita Limjaroenrat, former leader of the Move Forward Party and campaign assistant for the People's Party, along with Natcha Boonchai-insawat, canvassed for Anupap Likhit-amnuaychai, candidate number 5 for Samut Songkhram MP. The event was intimate, with Pita engaging warmly by sitting on the ground and conversing with the large crowd of supporters.
Pita gave a passionate speech about the construction problems on Rama 2 Road, citing the crane collapse incident on 15 Jan 2026 that killed two people as a critical lesson. He pointed out that only the same former transport ministers had promised the project’s completion by 2025, yet now in 2026 the issues persist. Major accidents have occurred repeatedly three times in recent years, reflecting failures in management and safety.
Pita emphasized that if Anupap is re-elected for a second term, he will push the "5 S" policy to restore quality of life locally: S for Safety—immediately raising construction safety standards on Rama 2 upon entering parliament, focusing on prevention and fair compensation so people are not put at risk; S for Economy—reviving income for small vendors and the Mae Klong market, which has suffered from transportation problems, proposing a “Safety Fund” with 2–5% of project budgets to quickly compensate those economically affected.
S for Health—advocating for more hospitals and improved public health services in Samut Songkhram; S for Welfare—reforming social security to fix system breakdowns and ensure independent workers who contribute monthly receive proper benefits; S for Environment—addressing dust and pollution from factories to preserve Mae Klong’s charm as a sustainable, livable city.
Pita stressed that the new government must have a clear Road Map. Contractors who repeatedly err or allow serious accidents must be blacklisted and held fully accountable for losses. He concluded by urging the people of Samut Songkhram to vote for the People’s Party on both ballots on 8 February to send Anupap back for a second term.
