The Kalathum Party launched a campaign in Chaiyaphum with two speech venues, condemning image-focused politics that abandon the people along the way. They declared that policies must be grounded in reality and must be feasible.
On 28 January 2026, the Kalathum Party held two major rallies in Chaiyaphum province: one in front of the Kaeng Khro District Office, Chong Sam Mor Subdistrict, Kaeng Khro District, and another at Ban Luang Siri, Nong Bua Daeng Subdistrict, Nong Bua Daeng District. The events were led by Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat Prompao, Party Advisory Chairman and Prime Ministerial candidate. , along with Mrs. Narumon Phinyosinwat, the leader of the Kalathum Party. They jointly took the stage to support the party's candidates for Member of Parliament (MP) in Chaiyaphum province. The atmosphere was lively, with many people from various areas coming to listen to the speeches in large numbers.
Mrs. Narumon said on stage that the Kalathum Party has consistently worked for farmers and opposes any approaches that might disadvantage Thai farmers in trade competitions or agreements favoring foreign interests. She cited her experience as Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, where there were attempts to push for the import of foreign pigs, similar to past cases involving cattle meat and powdered milk imports. She and Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat have consistently opposed these because they directly impact domestic livestock farmers.
“Using trade balance as a reason to burden Thai farmers is not right because some commercial benefits go to foreign private sectors, while the damage affects Thai people. State policies must prioritize Thai farmers’ interests. Agriculture is the country’s fundamental base, and farmers must not be left behind.”
Later, Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat delivered a forceful speech, emphasizing that representatives must serve the people, not act as their overlords. He criticized certain politicians who court voters closely during campaigns but become distant, avoid field visits, and ignore problems once elected.
“Some flatter voters and speak politely during campaigns, but once elected, they disappear, making themselves unreachable to the people. The public can decide whether such individuals deserve to return next time. The Kalathum Party affirms that we never abandon the people. We are a hardworking party ready to go into the field to solve problems and stand beside the people in every situation. We are not here only during campaigns, which the people of Chaiyaphum know well; both our former MPs and ministers have never been absent.”
He also addressed the issue of middlemen exploiting local farmers. Currently, sugarcane prices are very low, while sugar prices remain high. He called for the Ministry of Industry to explain why sugarcane farmers bear such burdens and questioned whether middlemen are the cause. He pledged to tackle middlemen exploiting Thai farmers. The Kalathum Party also expressed support for fair measures benefiting both consumers and producers, including the idea of establishing a debt relief center for teachers by creating a central cooperative to consolidate debts, restructure them, reduce interest burdens, and prevent recurring debt problems nationwide.
Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat further criticized some populist policies previously promised to make people’s "wallets fat" as mere dreams. He stressed that good policies must be based on realistic budget considerations and be achievable, not just pleasant-sounding promises that cannot be fulfilled. He also highlighted that calls for national reforms are often made without consulting the public’s needs.
The Kalathum Party’s candidates for MPs in Chaiyaphum province are Ms. Kaewalin Chaiwatkunwanich for constituency 1, Ms. Kanjana Jangwa for constituency 4, Mr. Suksan Chuenjit for constituency 5, and Mr. Akkarasan Kiri Lohveera for constituency 7.
