The Thai Embassy in Japan has announced it is seeking 191 eligible voters and overseas referendum participants to urgently contact the embassy to collect their election and referendum documents before 30 Jan due to unclear addresses causing returned documents.
On 29 Jan 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Thailand time, the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo, Japan, issued a notice urging more than 191 Thai eligible voters and referendum participants in Japan to urgently contact the embassy before 30 Jan. Among them, the embassy was unable to deliver election and referendum documents to 20 people, while 171 documents were returned.
The Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo informs eligible voters and/or referendum participants registered with the embassy in Tokyo.
The embassy has sent out election and referendum ballots to eligible voters. However, some individuals provided incomplete addresses, addresses in Thailand, the embassy's address as delivery, or addresses where recipients do not actually reside and are unknown to the property owner, causing the documents to be returned and undeliverable by mail. The embassy has corrected and sent over 186 envelopes via express delivery.
Therefore, those named in the announcement on the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo’s Facebook page are requested to collect their ballots at the embassy between 09:00 - 11:30 and 13:30 - 17:00 before 30 January 2026, bringing their ID cards for identity verification.
